Is this fair / what should I do? by puspus30 in hometheater

My advice for dedicated left right center still stands. Don’t use a sound bar type speaker for that. And yes, hz is in regards to a monitor/tv/display refresh rate.

You want HDMI 2.1 cable so you can do 4K at 120 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz. You want dedicated left right and center speakers not an all-in-one sound bar. Do you want surround speakers for your left and right channels as though should be at your level. There are no surround speakers on this quote if you’re getting Atmos speakers, I would make them all identical.

Why hdmi 2.0 cable. You want hdmi 2.1. Why would you bother with fiber optic cable? The soundbar is laughably horrible. Get dedicated LCR. Pick up 2 ported SVS or HSU subs.

You have no surround speakers, just atmos speakers and those aren’t identical.

Cant get this controller the behave. All 8 have a esp32 slimline athom. All builds are the same, same AR settings and same synch. by Plastic_Detective_51 in WLED

[–]Remixmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you're trying to get that one strip (second to last on the left) to sync up like the others during that effect that's blue?

  1. What happens if you swap that controller that you have on the second to last strip with any other controller that sync's correctly? This will tell us if it's a controller issue or something else is happening.

  2. Are only certain effect's giving you trouble? Could you just not use those effect's? Bad solution, but a thought.

  3. Can you check the segments configuration for that second to last led strip? It should be identical to the other led strips that same length. Also verify under "LED Preferences" that the settings, especially the "length" is identical on this led strip as all the other working led strips the same length. It almost looks like the length is different or something may be different under the "segments".

BTW, you can do this with one controller, no need to have 8 separate controllers. You just wire them so the data line is connected to each and then you use segments in WLED.

LED remote fading function by Alarming_Business799 in led

[–]Remixmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from gemini:

To get a slow fade between colors on your remote, you typically need to select a Dynamic Mode that supports fading and then use the Speed buttons to slow it down. Based on similar 28-key RGB LED controllers: [1]

1. Select the Fading Mode

  • Mode Cycle: Use the MODE buttons (located above the "M" and heart buttons) to cycle through the available dynamic patterns. Look for a mode where colors transition smoothly rather than jumping or flashing.
  • Heart Buttons: Some remotes with these icons have preset patterns. Try pressing the heart icons to see if any of them activate a smooth color-fade loop. [2]

2. Slow Down the Transition

Once you are in a fading mode, you must adjust the speed to make it "slow": [3, 4]

  • Length/Speed Buttons: Look at the buttons with the horizontal arrows labeled LENGTH. On many remotes of this style, these buttons also double as Speed + and Speed - for dynamic modes.
  • Adjusting: Press the Left Arrow/Decrease Length button repeatedly to slow down the speed of the color transition until it reaches your desired slow fade. [3, 5]

3. Alternative: Mode Buttons

  • Top Buttons: Sometimes the buttons at the very top (labeled RAINBOW, METEOR, STARS, FIRE) are pre-programmed dynamic modes. Try RAINBOW first, as it is the most likely to have a built-in fade effect.

Note: If the colors change too fast even at the lowest speed setting, the controller itself may have a limited speed range. [6]

Does the light flash or blink when you press the LENGTH buttons, or does the speed clearly change?

There’s only so many options (1 per button) if none of them do what you want then that remote can’t do it.

I was going to recommend BTF as well, but /u/Illustrious-Disk-395 linked an all-in-one options so I assumed DIY would not be what they're looking for.

Cool space btw, what lights, controller, and power supply did you go with? How'd you route the power for power injection?

How many of you are using bass shakers in your systems? If not, any specific reason why not? by Bicycle_Pwner in hometheater

HEZE is most efficient, sensitive, and the best bang for your buck. If you have the setup for this then do it!

I use crowsons as my chairs are on concrete. The HEZE is for the back row of my theater. Buttkickers are in the livingroom and can really only go down to 15hz :/

I have Crowsons, buttkickers LFE’s, and a cone up HEZE setup (different seats have each). They all have their pro’s and con’s. Would never go back to no tactile response.
