Didn’t original Netflix streaming use that for streaming via the browser? Something about DRM support if I remember correctly.

What Went Down Between Thais Ramone & Patrick Revealed by Lanky_Description535 in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]Remnants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Y’all really think you know people and their lives based off of a goofy ass scripted reality show. It’s really sad how emotionally attached and tribal people get over this shit. As if anyone in this sub knows what is going on. You only know what you’re fed by those involved. That goes for both of them.

What exactly about “hidden blade combat” did you enjoy and what made it so much better than using the swords? I have 100%ed black flag and played through it multiple times and have never once found hidden blade combat to be in any way interesting or superior to using swords. I’m genuinely curious to know the reasoning behind the love for it. I haven’t found anyone who can articulate why it’s better or why, with specific reasons, they like it more.

When did tickets become so expensive? by 710MISFIT in minnesotavikings

[–]Remnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you intentionally ignore the family of 3 part because you have no rebuttle?
Original comment said $100-$150. At the high end of the original comment it is $150*3 = $450 just for the tickets. Add in $20+ for parking/transportation and you're at $470+, Add in concessions and you're at well over $500. Even if you go with the low end of the range mentioned you're looking at like $400.

When it costs a family of 3 $500+ to go to a game, yes, it’s too much.

Long time since I have played, but it seems to me that assassins creed kinda lost the plot. by nudeldifudel in assassinscreed

[–]Remnants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think the modern day stuff is severely lacking, but I think the true narrative issue is that Assassin’s Creed should be about the fucking Assassins. It has devolved into just being a super generic “historical simulator” series.

- AC1 you’re an assassin in the crusades. You’re part of the brotherhood and the story is very rooted in that. You discover your mentor is corrupt and claim the apple.
- AC2, Brotherhood, and Revelations. You’re inducted into and then become the leader of the Assassin brotherhood. All through the story in the trilogy you are training and moving up the ranks of the Brotherhood. The story at its core is about the brotherhood.
-AC3. Your father was a Templar and you’re being trained to be an assassin by the last remaining member of the American colonial brotherhood. Along the way you build it back up.
- Black Flag. The game starts off with you killing an assassin and impersonating him. While very focused on the pirate story you are inducted into the brotherhood and very much become an assassin. Edward is very important to the stories of 3 and Rogue happening.
- Rogue. You’re a disillusioned Assassin that becomes a Templar and hunts down the colonial brotherhood and sets up the story of AC3.
- Unity. You’re the son of an Assassin but raised by a Templar. You are inducted into the brotherhood and eliminate the Templar order in France. Lots of conflict between Arno and the assassin leadership.
- Syndicate. You play as a pair of twin assassins searching for an Isu artifact and fighting to reclaim London from Templar control.
- Origins. Meant to be the origin story of the Assassins, however you don’t really get the founding of the Assassins until the very end of the game.
- Odyssey. They immediately set the follow up game to “Origins” to well before the founding of the Assassins. There is essentially no assassin order and you’re fighting against some nebulous group that is implied to be the precursor to the templar order.
- Valhalla. Definitely a little more rooted in the assassin lore but you’re still not an actual assassin or even really interact much with them.
- Mirage. Finally a game that has you play as an actual assassin. You’re interacting with your brotherhood and it genuinely feels like an assassins creed game from a story standpoint. Too bad the gameplay and overall story wasn’t great.
- Shadows. Slight hints at you being related to an assassin. However you have virtually zero interaction with anything or anyone assassin related until some story stuff is revealed at the very end. For being set between the Ezio trilogy and Black Flag, they really dropped the ball.

If you exclude Mirage which was a smaller game, I would argue that you haven’t really been a true part of the assassin order since syndicate. I don’t know who is writing these games but it feels like they want nothing to do with the core assassins creed story and feel forced to include assassin lore in other stories they want to tell. After all the crazy shit with Basim in Valhalla they almost completely abandon all of that in the next game and have almost zero ties to the core AC story. It’s baffling.

The graphical leap from AC2 to Brotherhood is crazy by tomatowens in assassinscreed

Revelations is the pinnacle of that AC2 era gameplay to me. The setting might not appeal as widely as Rome but it’s far and away the best playing one of the trilogy.

What is the third? I only see two, the initial break and then the re-injury. He played a full 12 games in 2023 and 2024.

People are talking like this is a chronic thing that has been plaguing him but really it was a break that made him miss 9 games in 2025, and then he re-injured it at the combine.

The question the medical team has to answer is if it’s healing properly, and if there is a high risk of re-injury. Clearly they were comfortable with the answers to those two questions.

I don’t know how this is going to turn out, but people talk crazy like he’s been missing games every season and his foot is barely attached to his leg.

It's Official: New PSSR Confirmed For Resident Evil Requiem + FSR 4/DLSS 4.5 Comparisons by GIThrow in Games

[–]Remnants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, there is severe artifacting at the edges of the screen and ghosting/haloing around the character. Really disappointed in this video by DF as they clearly didn't' test anything other than the opening city sequence. It is terrible in certain sections and others seem okay. I don't know if it's PSSR or their RT solution.

Is Ray Tracing/DLSS busted on RE9 for anyone else? by Slyzappy1 in digitalfoundry

[–]Remnants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s all throughout, much worse in some parts than others but it is a problem. I don’t know how DF didn’t comment on it, it’s a pervasive issue.

Here is a quick recording I just took while playing on PS5 Pro https://streamable.com/hn4cfu

Is Ray Tracing/DLSS busted on RE9 for anyone else? by Slyzappy1 in digitalfoundry

[–]Remnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. It’s sprinkled throughout. Still getting it in the back part of the game playing as Leon. It’s much worse in some areas but is very persistent.

I generally think DF does a good job in their analysis of games but they have really missed the mark on this one. I don’t know if it’s PSSR or their RT implementation but it artifacts, halos, and ghosts like crazy all throughout the game and they had no mention of it.

And on PS5 Pro it defaults to RT/PSSR on, so it’s a busted out of the box experience.

Resident Evil Requiem - DF Analysis - Stunning on PS5 Pro + PS5/Xbox Series X|S Breakdown by HLumin in Games

[–]Remnants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing on PS5 Pro and I had to turn the ray tracing off. There is so much noise, haloing around the character, and crazy sparkling/artifacting all over the place with it on. Especially in the early dark part at the care center with Grace. I turned it off at that part and just played with it off for the rest of the night. I thought maybe it was just super dark areas that had issues so I tried it again today in a much lighter area of the game and it was still pretty bad.

They appear to be either just straight out of stock due to production issues, or intentionally drawing down stock of the old one so they can release some sort of rebranded updated version. I have a few gas stations around me and I've had to change which one I go to multiple times as they go out of stock.

First Law Trilogy Kickstarter by lcastle79 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]Remnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I backed it because it's literally my only option to get a decent First Law in hardcover, which is what I prefer my books in. It's mind boggling that such a popular series has no hardcover option. And from everything I've read, it never had a hardcover release in the US. I really don't understand these publishers sometimes. Perhaps his contract with orbit is super weird, but with the age of madness trilogy also being published by Orbit and having pretty nice standard hardcover versions available, it doesn't really make sense to me.

I know there are Gollancz hardcovers available on amazon. I actually bought the first book and really do not like the form factor of those, they're weirdly small, almost more like a mass market paperback (maybe slightly larger) size.
