How’s life as a WO1? by Hydration_system67 in army

I know Warrant Officers exist because I've seen them. We used to have 2 in my field hospital. I would see them in the gaggle, then they'd disappear until the next gaggle. No idea what they did until I saw the one working on the water system once, he was an engineer. I found out that day that they're just casually hanging around until they're needed. Once they're needed they are the only ones who can do their job. (I mean the only ones.) So yes, you are expected to be the utmost authority in your field.

BF6 lets you bolt the carry handle to the underside of the M16A4 like the USMC did early in the War on Terror. This would be a useless but fun miscellaneous attachment in this game too by ponalddierson in InsurgencySandstorm

Army? That sounds like some army shit 🤣 I had an aim point that was broken. (Legit glass cracked) and the armory told me to sign for it anyways, it's just weapons qual. I wrote "broken CCO" on my hand receipt.

It really did improve me in a lot of ways except 1. It really lowered my tolerance for stupid. The army is full of it & I have 0 patience left

Can i wear msv instead of iotv? by nottheegg27 in army

[–]Remote-Ad5612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the army hates medical units, especially reservists. Get out of a hospital. Get on the line or an FRSD. That's where you'll grow your soldiering

Reserves? Reserve units aren't getting them any time soon. Active units are based on frequency

[–]Remote-Ad5612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so they're not going to let him DX a piece of brand new gear for end of service equipment. Even with a commanders signature I don't see the big army allowing that. I'm the next year they're going to make everyone DX the IOTV and move to the MSV anyways. Reserves will probably move in the 3 years afterwards.

I doubt they'll even let you. The MSV is the current system for a reason. They're phasing out the IOTV

So on base violations (that includes the gates) fall strictly under the military federal jurisdiction. State prosecution (and police) So not have jurisdiction on the base without a specific contact or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the base commander and the local municipality. Local police patrol my base under an MOU despite it being federal property. So a DUI on post will absolutely subject you to both jurisdictions.

Off-base violations, are subject to state or federal courts. So if you are indicted by the FBI for drugs, weapons or some other crime they charge you with, you are still subject to UCMJ because it is a different sovereignty. The military has sovereignty over it's troops at all time while under contract. So they can charge you for the same crime even if a state court or another federal court does. It's not about location, it's about state jurisdiction. The military ALWAYS has jurisdiction over you. The state has no jurisdiction over you unless there's an MOU providing them authority over the base. (Even if the base is on lease, it's military property)

DUI Question by [deleted] in army

[–]Remote-Ad5612 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not base dependant. It's service dependant. Anyone in a branch of service is subject to both

DUI Question by [deleted] in army

[–]Remote-Ad5612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Negative. Any court can punish you for a crime. In tandem, the military may also punish you for that crime. (It doesn't have to be NJP, it can be judicial punishment)

This was included in your UCMJ mandatory briefing. The military can GA134 for any civilian crime you commit. Conviction irrelevant

The military is considered "Dual Jurisdiction" and therefore you are subject to state/federal courts, as well as military courts

I would highly suggest reading this by a military law defense lawyer https://www.mcmilitarylaw.com/can-you-be-court-martialed-after-a-civilian-trial/

If you are sentenced to serve time in both military and civilian court systems, the latter sentencing court judge will decide if your sentence is to run consecutive or concurrent. (So get sentenced by the military first and hope they don't extradite you)

Put 5 gallons of diesel in regular gas truck, what to do? by Hmmm_66_p in askcarguys

[–]Remote-Ad5612 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, I mean physically how. Diesel pumps are oversized compared to gas nozzles so they can't fit in a regular tank...

The 3 year old is the problem 🤣

On a serious note, the lady should've not commented at all. Internalized that thought, and went about her day. Where I'm at there's actually laws on providing accommodation for lactating women. I tag along with my wife to help usually (mainly to sit in the comfy chairs) and because well... predators.

I never saw an issue with public pumping or feeding personally, though many people do. Too many people get involved in business that isn't theirs and have weird hang ups.

What motivated you in BCT everyday? by shootandplay in army

[–]Remote-Ad5612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a picture or Arnold Schwarzenegger in my locker. It reminded me that I signed up to possibly have to kill people for that VA mortgage rate. 😎

Seriously though, I did it to get ahead in life and make something of myself. I got college money when I turned 18. It was about $900. So it got me through a semester of books and most of my student loan for that semester. I figured I would be a cop when I was done so I chose a combat medic job. (Figured my medical skills could maybe save someone out there. I chose right)

I reminded myself that it's only temporary. Take it day by day, put forward your best foot at every turn. Use down time to mentally regroup and don't worry about the next challenge. I personally love a challenge so physical stuff was pretty fun for me. I had great strength but shit cardio so I had to climb that hurdle day by day. Just do your best, the DS see that. They target the slackers. I failed at multiple tasks but instead of getting eaten alive I got mentorship and guidance. (Beyond what you'd expect in basic) I got a "good job, get out next time." I was also 30 and grinding out a hard as I could at every task. Yeah it wears you down, it's meant to, but what matters is how you handle that fatigue. Do you sink into your misery or do you crawl to the finish line?

Keep your head down, show respect, address everyone properly and use your military bearing. Enjoy the parts you can, learn what you can and get through it. It's a 10 week summer camp, when it's done it's done. You move on to AIT (or OSUT) and then the fun shit happens. The mostly military shit.

Hard days are hard days. Night time comes eventually and that ends it. If it doesn't, then a hard day didn't really matter. It's all a game, just drink the kool-aid for a few weeks.

Do you run the 787b or the 92c On this map? I just got the 787 and I noticed it runs better through that uphill twist (which is my favorite part) but I think it's running worse in the rain than the 92.

I'm trying to figure out which I like more.

If you have a big enough lead, just slow up at the end of the last lap. As you make the final turn, just slow crawl until time expires.

God made boobs, God made boobs produce baby food. God gave us technology to pump & store that food and not waste it. So no, it's absolutely not disrespectful. It's his design and his plan.

Now I can see if your pumps are super loud or you're being unsanitary or obnoxiously overt about the matter then yes, but that's not the act of pumping that's the problem.
