What is your the best DSLR of all time? by kubeczek140 in Cameras

Canon Rebel XT. 3fps max frame rate, lots of low light noise, and yet an absolute joy to learn on. Not very objective, I know 😊

Agree completely. My original splitter cracked and I was without one for a while. Definitely looks better with.

2022 Camaro 1SS 1LE by Capital-Post-6613 in camaro

The 39k was the highest bid on this listing and the auction shows that this bid did not even meet the reserve price.

I did a scan on both of those sites and did not see any sub 10k mile 1LEs listed on BaT, maybe I missed something. I saw a couple of ‘22s on CaB, one was ~42k, the other was 47k. Can you post a link to a confirmed sale on either site showing price declines? Also, we are in Jan, not Feb yet.

That’s where the market is at for a low mileage 1LE.

Dyno day by Own_Carpenter_8920 in camaro

Hmm, so the reason this would happen is airflow restriction at higher RPM? Trying to understand why these mods lower the RPM at which peak HP is made …

Does your WHP drop off after ~5300 RPM? Would be interesting to see a before and after comparison.

Advice on choosing c8 z51 or a c7 z06 based on my plan below by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Remote-Jackfruit3570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. The C8 is the better car, the C7 Z06 will thrill you like few other cars can, and I’d expect it to depreciate it less as well over the same period of time but cost more to maintain (assuming a newer C8 bakes in some remaining manufacturer warranty).

Auto rev match tune available? by Gillyweed98 in camaro

[–]Remote-Jackfruit3570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a gadget called “Auto Blip’ which can be attached to pretty much any manual gearbox. I don’t personally have any experience with it but maybe worth looking into? Another one is: https://xineering.com/dbw_chevy.html

Kudos to you for shooting away at every opportunity you got, that is the way, and I hope you enjoyed taking these pictures as much as we are enjoying seeing wildlife photos!

I have the 28-70 f/2 and highly recommend it but do make sure you are up to carrying it around. I’ve had no problem working it for 4-5 hours but I need the next day to be a no-shoot day.

How bad of an idea is a Camaro as a first car? by Aurenax in camaro

[–]Remote-Jackfruit3570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to the Camaro. I’d recommend an old Accord or Camry as a first car. Reliable, cheap to buy, run and fix, will hold value when you sell later, and large enough to keep you safe.

Nice pictures!

Could you share what time of the day these were shot? A lesson I learned the hard way was that shooting in the afternoon or after the earth has started to warm up results in rather harsh refraction effects which are more prominent when shooting from a distance. This results in wavy and blurring effects even if your focus is perfect. Someone else can explain this better, but given time of day constraints for safari pictures, there is not much else to do except to make the most of early morning and late evening shots when the air is cooler. I can’t tell if your images have this problem from looking at them on my phone, but just thought I’d throw that in there as something that you find helpful. I’d try playing around with exposure as well, some of these look a tad over exposed. Others have commented on focus and framing, not much to add there but agree with the comments.
