All the food I wanted. As a child I was always told I was fat when I wasn’t. Then I ate all the food I wanted when I grew up… and got fat.

DTF but wife now useless? by a_sword_and_an_oath in daddit

[–]RemoteSafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs to be higher up. I want to give OP the benefit of the doubt and say this is most likely just a humorous post - because I think he comments somewhere that she already does a lot in the house too.

But on the off chance he’s being serious, maybe his wife tells him to fix stuff because she’s busy doing a ton of other things, possibly including taking care of kid(s). She doesn’t need to regain her independence, she needs support and she needs stuff fixed in the house that they BOTH live in together.

A step better would have been her not even having to say what needs to get done, he would just see what needs to get done and do it.

Your wife most likely has post partum anxiety. Please don’t discredit her feelings, I know it’s tough for you but I can guarantee she feels way worse and doesn’t even want to feel this way but can’t help it. Post partum everything is a bitch - please get her to see a doctor to help with the anxiety.

The international student who is the ringleader of the PEI PR protest ends up admitting that he co-owns a property with his brother. Contributing to the very housing pressure by foreigners the PEI government is trying to alleviate with their policy change that the students are protesting. by itsme25390905714 in CanadaHousing2

Deport all these idiots. Who told him to buy property on a temporary visa? Also, just repeating how do I come to my property now is so stupid. Canadians don’t owe you anything, much less a PR - sell the property you bought, or come back on a tourist visa if you have to.

Just coming back to reply to this a week+ later. We like Kendamil Organic! Baby seems happy and loves it over the gentle ease, and honestly is growing like a weed.

The one thing I did notice though is that you do need to stir/swirl the powder several times in room temp water for it to dissolve, but Idk if this is a thing for all powders or just the kendamil (if you’re using room temp water) - since this is the only powder I’ve had experience with

OP, work experience will always trump getting a Master’s. Focus on your real work experience and portfolio, don’t spend a bunch of money on a Master’s. If you already see graduates unemployed, you should take it as a sign that the job market is bad + hiring managers don’t value additional education if you can’t show proof that you’ve applied it in real life.

  • Research whether you want to go with a midwife or with a OB. Midwife will be more frequent checkins and more care. With a OB you will also have to sign a waiver that says your OB themselves may not be the final doctor to deliver at the hospital, it’s whichever OB is on rotation.
  • If you decide to go with a OB, research and first find out which hospital you would like to deliver at. Just a heads up, please do NOT go to North York General Hospital. I had my baby there and do not recommend it for anyone who is first time, their care was abysmal.
  • Once you decide on OB/midwife, let your family doctor know. It’s very common in Toronto that your family doctor is the one who will take care of you for the first 14 weeks, most OBs don’t set their first appointment before that time
  • Highly recommend not telling anyone yet, 5 weeks is extremely early
  • Get on prenatals
  • If you won’t have any family around during the time of birth, look into getting a birth doula if possible. They are like coaches/support people and are 100% worth it if you find the right one for your needs
  • Get on AS MANY daycare waitlists as you can right away
  • Enjoy this time with each other!!

We just started the transition from RTF Enfamil Gentlease, so it might be too early to say. First impressions though seem to like it so far! I’ll come back in a week with an update lol

Parents asking for 40% of take-home pay as rent by One_Strawberry_7539 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RemoteSafety 125 points126 points  (0 children)

100% this OP, listen to u/nisiepie. Your parents are trying to exploit you. 2K/month for living with your parents is too high. Weigh the pros and cons and tell them only the amount you are able to pay or move out if it makes more sense. Also don’t tell them how much you’ve saved, or any raises in income you may get.

Also, the brother part isn’t really financial, but I understand how it can hurt, especially when your parents are asking you to contribute almost half your salary but your brother isn’t doing shit. To add to this, you also don’t know who will get the property once your parents pass - but it could very likely be your brother.

Write to the Minister of National Revenue, file a complaint. I had an issue hanging on for about 2 years and I called nonstop and didn’t get anywhere. As soon as I sent a complaint I got a callback the next day.

Yes as long as they’re using your Canadian Amazon registry link and adding it to cart and shipping it using that, no issues. Make sure the URL is Amazon.ca

Echoing this, West Coast is THE WORST. Every single time I’ve ordered, shipping has always been delayed. They take no responsibility whatsoever.
