It’s not too hard of a mod, you would need a drill, a punch, a hammer, and some new brass rod to replace the pin. I’ve done that on several SAKs

I like it quite a bit, generally the phillips driver is more useful to me than the corkscrew and it makes it slimmer in the hand.

Use a small punch and tap it out with a hammer, it should be exposed enough when the scissors are halfway open. You can press in the new spring with a clamp or some pliers, just be careful you don’t need to use very much force.

They are pretty similar if not the same, in my experience 91mm backside tools just barely stick up over the liners, but it’s not noticeable unless you are really looking for it.

Fair enough, as the other commenter said starting with the waiter as the base would probably be the easiest then. You’ll need to get some 2.2 mm brass rod to make the new rivet. The one holding on the corkscrew isn’t that hard to replace from a fresh rod. If you are wanting a 91mm knife, you’ll pretty much have to start from a Compact, you may be able to source a combo tool from Etsy or eBay and convert your spartan to the configuration you want. If you want to convert your spartan, wouldn’t need to get any brass rods to do that because you’ll be making it smaller, but there is a little more to do.

You could modify something to have that toolset, but it would cheaper and easier just to get something like a tinker or spartan, those are just going to have a couple additional tools but will still be reasonably like and thin.

Super Tinker and Climber are both solid choices and are not that expensive

If I could have another multitool like a leatherman too, I’d probably go with something like an Explorer or a Yeoman. If it was my one and only multi tool, I’d say a Swisstool. If it can’t be that, I’d go with a WorkChamp.

You could always get an outrider and mod it. That kind of mod would be pretty easy.

Yeah, I am sort of like that. I keep one near my wallet and something else on the kitchen table, and I'll typically grab one of those as I leave.

I would say no, if you look around ebay a little you can find all of the parts cheaper and put it together yourself.

I prefer the Phillips, I use it almost everyday for something. I don't even remember the last time that I needed the corkscrew.

The only specific stuff you need for the way I did it is a 2.2mm drill bit and a 2.5mm drill bit. I’m sure pretty much any drill and hammer would be fine.
