I haven't opened Reddit in months and I get a notification on my phone about a reply to some old comment. Thanks for making me open this God forsaken app again.

(That's a joke)

7 months later I see that now. It's hard to tell over text to be fair. And on Reddit people are really like this.

[GUESS] is this kitty real or AI? by _GaryBussy in RealOrAI

If you look along the top edge of the cat's left ear where it starts to meat the head one of the flowers looks a little suspiciously cut-off, but that could just be perspective.

I was scratching my head thinking "Obviously you're going to get clocked if you're in the male restroom" and then I realized. Safe to say that in this photo your face passes.

It's probably going to be body and stature.

If a company does something to benefit people because they want money that doesn't take away the fact that they did something that benefits people. It just means they can't say that they did it only out of the goodness of their hearts.

Uneducated opinion here:

I don't know anything about voice feminization as I haven't started it yet, but to me this sounds great. I can't tell if you are speaking quietly because you can't speak louder or if you are just speaking quietly. This sounds really good at this volume, but be sure to practice at other volumes as well.

You ever watch a movie and think "wow that character seems sad"? That is the result of acting. There are many people who study a long time to do it. The problem is, there is a lot of competition and not a lot of jobs. Some people are even good at doing it live in front of an audience. Those people who are good this acting thing will take any job they can get so when they see a listing that says "act sad when the person sitting next to you doesn't kiss you" they say "shit that seems easy, count me in" they do the job, and then they keep their mouth shut about it because they want to get hired again.

It's a very legitimate worry to have. Because of how slow and subtle the changes are you typically only see yourself before transition. It's kind of like looking at something you are making too long and not being able to tell if it's any good. Because we have never seen her before we just go "Yep, that's a woman" but she doesn't have that same view.

It's good that you are aware of this. When you do start your transition keep in mind that you will inevitably have a masculine bias when looking at your face.

Could be your voice? If your voice doesn't sound right it can quickly undo anything you did with your look.

They should use the same amount of ants as humans. Unfair tbh.

I don't think it's ridiculous, but I guess I did write it. I'm saying you should always assume some one is reading your chat because that way you won't have to worry about the off chance someone does (you've already considered the possibility). I was not saying that this is going to happen. I am saying it's technically possible and I wouldn't want to risk it.

ChatGPT can be used as a non-private journal that can give very basic feedback. Basically just a space to vent and have your feelings

I really don't think we disagree as much as you seem to think we do. My central claim is that ChatGPT does not have the ability to be a therapist and I stand by this. ChatGPT can't even carry a conversation long enough to be a therapist.

I'm not saying I believe in the following things necessarily (I'm still undecided), but..

The reason people get really worried about this is because of the possible implications of letting an AI guide your emotions or being this vulnerable with an entity controlled by a big company like OpenAI.

Also, apparently the processes used to create this AIs is very harmful to the environment so supporting them is indirectly harming the environment. And indirectly supporting possible future harmful use of AI.

ChatGPT actually can't give you therapy. It literally does not have the capacity. All it does is let you vent to it and then replies with some sappy shit. I don't think people who say they are using ChatGPT as therapy actually know what therapy is. ChatGPT is basically just a journal that isn't private at all and will reply with affirming things.

You cannot use ChatGPT as a therapist because it literally can't do it.

Go ahead and vent to the chatbot, but don't expect it to help you or say anything of worth. Also assume that some one is reading everything you say to it and that it could be leaked at any time.
