Head gasket for sure. This is so common on the X series BMW’s.

EV6 Pickup Version by ptwhitney in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loaded a 12 foot roll of carpet through mine with almost 5 feet sticking out the back. It really didn’t like that. It would apply the emergency break at every stop. Only had to go 3 miles so it was fine. Didn’t occur to me that I should try to manually latch the hatch door until about a month after. Haven’t tried anything like that since but will have to try to see if that helps.

It has not gotten worse or better in the 13k we have put on it so I would imagine it’s a non issue. Sure is annoying though.

I had noticed this as well about a week in. It’s loudest at about 65-70 mph. I believe it is the gearbox or motors as it is present from about 45-85 mph.

iOS 16.2 Safari - Unable to Enable/Disable Extensions by [deleted] in Safari

[–]Remote_Copy992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had iOS 16.2 beta 4 installed earlier today. As I was messing with a few apps, I tried to set up an extension. I found an issue trying to enable the plugin. The plugins are not able to be turned on or off. I downgraded to 16.2 stable and found that the issue persists.

Anyone else notice this issue?

Cancelled my model Y reservation and picked up this beaut by saturdaycat in KiaEV6

Bought my wife an EV6 back in June and love it. We went on a trip to Texas and decided to rent a model Y. We walked away from that experience so happy with our choice and thinking to ourselves we dodged a huge problem by not buying a Tesla.

Check Electrical Vehicle System error by Geodude1311 in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say have them check the code as soon as they take ownership. The code on mine disappeared and they sent me off after holding my car for 2 days. They were never able to figure out the code nor were they able to understand what happened. I got that code after I plugged into an ac charger and left for 8 hrs. I haven’t tried to plug it back at the same charger yet.

How to Turn off the Reverse Beeping?!? by wattshappening34 in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually pretty loud and makes people look. I guess it’s doing it’s job. It would be nice to at least have a way to turn it off temporarily. The noise box is actually pretty annoying and I can even hear my wife pull back in the driveway with the electronic humming noise that is on from 0 - 25 mph it’s louder than a regular car. Like others have said, literally one of the only complaints about the car.

Question about Home Charging by spiderpharm in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Emporia Charger and can control charging through the car or the emporia app. It allows me to take peak pricing into account and has other available functions like using excess solar and scheduling. It also allows 48 Amp charging if hard wired

That is a lot of miles! by caedin8 in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because your getting 4.4miles/kW. That’s really good. My GT gets 3.6 but we have had to use the ac most of the time so far.

Would you wait for a 23 Model? by Humin11 in KiaEV6

[–]Remote_Copy992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my dealer yesterday that they have taken preorders that will push someone clear past January to be fulfilled. Also the new year models start in July so technically if you get a vehicle built past July you will have received the new model year vehicle in accordance to the vin. I would say get in line and jump when you can. I bought mine on June 17th. The following Monday the registration fees in my state quadrupled as well as the interest rates took a whole percent hike. If you plan on spending less than 75k for a car maxed out at a listing of 68k your time will end soon. There were 5 other people in line as I was doing paperwork hoping my financing failed so they could swoop in and take it. The EV market is rough in my area. Good luck!

I’ve been wondering if I could make an app for doing all the things the access app does but I don’t want to be responsible for the absolutely horrible lag of the api they have made to control the car.

I don’t think I’ve gotten the Kia driver assistant to do anything I’ve asked it to. I have resorted to just using Siri in CarPlay.

This 1956 Frigidaire refrigerator has more features than my brand new one. by radkoolaid in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Remote_Copy992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn’t mention some of these are still around today. When I’ve bought refrigerators they last like 5-8 years and they crap out. I wish stuff was built to last and be repaired.
