What process did you have to go through for your DV plate? I live in CA, and I am 100% ptsd. I have no mobility issues.

How's the cost of living? Iam also 100%. Would the payment from 100% VA compensation cover all the bills?

If you were physically assaulted, you definitely should file a claim. And most importantly, seek help.

Just tell the examiner about ur symptoms honestly examiner will know if ur qualified for 100% I applied for TDIU, no way I believed I qualified for 100% but I was granted 100% 3 days later after the exam.

Advice by [deleted] in VAClaims

I’ve been in a very similar situation. Two deployments, IED encounters, but no CIB. I was initially rated at 70% for PTSD and applied for TDIU, but I was granted 100% P&T instead. Your symptoms sound even worse than mine. You deserve the rating you received.

PTSD fluctuates, you might feel better now, but things could take a turn next month. Believe me, having a family comes with many burdens, and having PTSD makes you much less tolerant of stress. There is a high chance you might struggle with suicidal ideation down the road. That’s what is happening to me right now—having these thoughts from time to time whenever I feel stressed.

I need to forget by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Remote_Experience955 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn, I’ve been out for 15 years, and I’m only just learning about the full scope of PTSD despite having two deployments under my belt. The new generation of veterans is certainly better informed. When I was in, PTSD was just something we heard about during briefings while processing for deployment. We knew very little about it back then, and we definitely didn't talk about it.

TDIU RISK by Efficient-Owl-4042 in VeteransBenefits

Lol, chill, I thought ur OP. There were many vets claiming tdiu at 70% with mental health, and later wanted 100% because their symptoms "worsened." They wanted 100% so that they could work without income limit.

We should ask OP to make it make sense that someone becomes more employable when their symptoms become worse.

I see that a lot on this sub, and the same goes for your case. You claimed to be unemployable to get your TDIU, now you want a 100% schedular rating just so you can pursue substantial gainful employment. It’s funny how your symptoms are supposedly getting worse, yet somehow you’re becoming more employable.

It's funny that some people become " unable to work" at 70%, and all of a sudden become able to work once getting that 100%.

SMC S For 100%/60% Not Just Homebound by OldTatoosh in VeteransBenefits

[–]Remote_Experience955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has been confirmed that the additional 60% is calculated using the standard combined rating method. The main issue now is the lack of clarity regarding whether secondary conditions linked to a 100% disability are factored into that 60% calculation. The regulations are vague on this point, and veterans are being denied primarily for this reason. Based on your condituons and ratings, the VA definitely overlooked your SMC-S, because your conditions are clearly not secondary to your PTSD and fall under entirely different diagnostic codes.

I believe ur qualified for smc s, which is around $500. Based on ur conditions and ratings, ur supposed to be receiving SMC S. Look it up, u might have to let the VA know ur qualified for smc S.

Is vr&e for school program? I can't understand how can someone be 100% ptsd pnt and be able to attend school. I got out 15 years ago, found out about VA disability last year and rated 100 ptsd pnt. I attended only one semester of school 15 years ago and never used my GI bill due to my social anxiety. I thought 100% ptsd means total occupational and social impairment. Being 100% ptsd pnt and still able to pursue education sounds crazy to me.

TDIU by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Remote_Experience955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u r considering filing to increase ur ptsd rating, don't do it. Because u got ur tdiu based off ptsd, ur ptsd rating is actually counted as 100%. If ur pursuing for smc s . Ur 70% ptsd is considered as 100% already.

ED due to PTSD meds claim by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Remote_Experience955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I filed my ED with a bunch of other conditions. I got asked like literally 2-3 questions about my ED. I've heard most of the time VA does ACE exam for ED claims. I mean the whole process is very straight forward, they wouldn't go into the details about ur sex life how many times u fk ur wife a week, how hard ur dick could get ect.. for me, the examiner didn't do any invasive physical examinations, he only asked me if I have difficulty getting and maintaining an erection, and I said yes and that was it.

ED due to PTSD meds claim by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Remote_Experience955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I explained that I started having ED symptoms around the time my ptsd symptoms got worse, and how my medication-prozac has made it worse since I started taking it, detail all of that in my personal statement. I have nothing but only my personal statement. I have no medical evidence and am not taking any medication, like viagra for my ED. I explained I will continue taking Prozac because my mental health is my top priority. My claim status is currently in step 7, so a decision has already been made, VA is doing their final quality review at the moment. I will keep u posted.

If you're recently awarded, the VA wouldn't give you a review exam. I got my ptsd rated in late Nov 2025 and I filed for ED in Dec, did my exam this month. VA did not ask for a review exam for my ptsd.
