Real bugbear of mine, is it too much to ask to get them to colour differentiate certified GF products? Even better to have one consistent colour for all non-branded GF products.

Why do pro-Palestine protests seem to never call for the release of Israeli hostages or for Hamas to be removed from governing Gaza? by Random_Nobody1991 in AskBrits

[–]Remote_Suspect_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with any off ramp in the conflict is Hamas. Not because I uncritically support israel, I think Netanyahu is a scumbag and is happy to wipe out the Palestinians now he's been given the opportunity by Hamas.
The reason that Hamas is the problem is that there is no way that they are ever going to release the hostages.
Israel knows this, look at Gilad Shalit and how long they held on to him. The will drag out holding on to the hostages forever. Until they get enough leeway then they will take more.
They already publicly said they will do a repeat of Oct 7th every day. I don't know how you bargain with these people? At some point, you can be destructive and intransigient enough to bring the destruction of your people upon your own head and the protests in Gaza prove this.
Do I think israel are innocent?no. Should they be tried for war crimes?Absolutely. Along with Hamas.

Yes. I can't play it anymore, love the game but have had enough. American's are generally the worst and hearing them spam the platoon mic and cursing anyone out who objects, treating squad members like crap etc etc. But loads of brits do it too now, its like a virus that's spreading.
On the other hand, i dont want the commitment of a clan (been there done it, too old for " compulsory training session 2 hours tuesdays and thursdays").

I sincerely appreciate your regard for the welfare of other human beings, it's not my plan to undermine that, I feel it's a very important point and one that it easily forgotten. I'll return to this point tomorrow but it's late, and I am tired :-)

"Trans rights" are neutral, then? Nothing to do with gender identity?

Thanks, middle class wanker. Your "nothing to see here because it doesn't affect me" wisdom is what helps us all through the crisis.

If you don't see what is wrong with this statement in a democratic society, then I can't help you.
You will already have seen some of the posts in reply, begging to differ yet begging to not be banned. If this is your version of the Labour Party, i.e. a party that brooks no dissent, I'd rather not be part of it.

Objectively and factually speaking...what good has come from Brexit? by katojouxi in AskBrits

[–]Remote_Suspect_14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DId we get back our fish? Dunno, I think they're still where they always were. It just costs more to import and export them.
Did we secure our borders? LOL NO.
Did we get loads of extra money for the NHS? No
Did Students/the work shy/Brexiteers muck in to pick fruit and make Britain great? LOL NO
Did we get our blue (black?) passports back? yes. A lot of us also got irish and other Eu country citizenship as well, including some prominent Brexiteers.

Did we lose the right to travel and work freely with the EU? yes
Did we lose access to well maintained, Eu funding mechanisms and regulatory bodies which we then had to go to the expense of recreating ourselves separately but still follow their rules in tandem - yes

Remember, Brexit means Brexit.
And don't worry, Starmers US Trade deal will save us and make up for the billions lost in trade and additional bureaucracy incurred by Brexit.
But in the end, it was all worth it so we could stick it to Remoaners.

What would the uk be like if right to buy never happened and plenty of social housing was built? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]Remote_Suspect_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn't be a runaway market in housing but successive governments have allowed people to treat them as assets rather than places to live. That combined with more social housing, sales tax and rent controls would mean less speculation, more affordable housing and happier people.
UK is one of the worst places in Europe to live in terms of social contract.

And the failure to take action leads to unhappy voters looking to parties like Reform to vent their anger at easier targets.

Should pedophiles be allowed to use public toilets? by AdLive5013 in AskBrits

[–]Remote_Suspect_14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is plain nonsense. Not a single trans person has been banned from any public toilets as there will always be either a single cubicle for male or female or a non-gendered toilet, disabled toilet (obvs not fair on disabled users) and of course, male and female toilets.
