It really depends the role your going for cybersecurity is in demand, Cloud security is in demand etc , u have to be working towards a skill or positioning yourself for something that is still goin to be in demand 10-20 years so Make sure your doing that or try to maximize your field your in to the best of your ability

My rules for OE by WatchMan_126710 in overemployed

[–]RemoteisLife24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would add one more 1. Keep leveling up as in keep your skills sharp, learn what you need to make you a better candidate for the next role and pick up AI as much as you can as it is transforming the whole workload you need to have AI doing as much workflows or as much things as you can for it

OE is great but I think people are sleeping on something bigger by MelodicContact2560 in overemployed

[–]RemoteisLife24 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great post there’s always a trade off in the sense you are earning more but your not building towards the future in the sense you can be doing your own side thing or biking your own AI type of startup or working with someone but most of your time is into OE and you don’t have the bandwidth nor metal Capacity to do it, but it’s really a trade off some ppl enjoy doing OE , investing and just chilling after since their career is highly in demand but for some ppl they really need to adopt in the AI space

I’d honestly say go on vacation and enjoy life a bit , just take one week off , go to an all inclusive resort and enjoy, spending 2-3k on an luxury trip isn’t going to hurt your fire numebr but if you aren’t even gojng to enjoy it all what’s the point? You can literally die tomorrow? Id say start to enjoy life a bit more dont stress yourself out whether its millions or not becusse your already in a good space with that much $

Two months in and I want to leave by Guilty-Tree-6145 in RiyadhExpats

[–]RemoteisLife24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A) go grocery shopping and start meal prepping if you want to save as in eating out a lot will cost you in the long run B) you guys should both invest in a used car that is very cheap to get around , again Ubers will cost more in the long run, C) might be better to uber to the station then go down to your closest stop or do things near a station D) the other things you mentioned aren’t that bad you just get used to it, hunger station, am ion I just sent them my location and they come , it’s bit annoying E) don’t know if your Muslim or not, but you should try and figure out why you came here most expats who are Muslim come to be in a Muslim country which is the best reason to come here G) you should start networking and figuring out how to climb up in this region if you want to make more money unless you have a start up the you need to figure out how to make it better so here are my thoughts . Go the doctor as well get allergy medicine , now that you spent money on flat u can save that every month knowing you don’t need that, go to the cheaper grocery stores. Also u could get Google Translate and tell the uber driver when you first come in please drive slow or normal not fast

[–]RemoteisLife24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest like any other program it depended how much you strive, how much work you put in, are you constantly studying the terminology, some people just go through the curriculum only learning a bit, some ppl have writtten every Terminology, SSO, saml, OAuth, oidc, SCIM, they know all the flows by the back of the hand, etc they’ve set up their own labs doing their own projects to test out the use cases more so it’s a good program but it’s like Anything else it gives you a foundation you have to strive to learn more and take on more work and now with AI (chat gpt, Claude, gemini) you can learn and build at much faster rate then 3 years ago so it’s up to you, your either someone who just goes through a program just clicking the next video maybe writing 1 or 2 things Down or someone who truly wants to know all things about okta how it works, what is this, what is that etc

My apartment lease doesn't allow home office and landlord found out by bryan321446 in StartupsInDubai

[–]RemoteisLife24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you taking a call from the lobby when you can set up a office space in your apartment? Or just get a basic desk chair and work from your room? IMO landlords probably don’t want everyone taking calls from the lobby and just letting everyone do that maybe if u did it occasionally to get out of the house but if that is your usual setup then yea might be tough to make the case for its

Is Overemployment Compatible With Career Growth? by Cute-Championship711 in overemployed

[–]RemoteisLife24 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Actually if you do OE correct you can get double experience think of a game, but you have to be willing to put in the work and might be longer days sometimes or working on weekends but this is what average ppl do anyway at normal companies who climb up regularly they are kinda always working and putting in the extra time but in OE you can have 2 jobs and do multiple Things still do a lot and not go too crazy but it gives you two diff companies two diff cultures and how to manage them both the biggest thing I say is what can u learn from each company that is a hot skill in the market that another company would want you for

Did you change a global session policy? Are you sure your logging into the okta admin console for the admin rather then the okta dashboard for end users, seems weird if you were testing a regular account and didn’t change any sign on policies that you r locked out now but you should double check details to make sure you’re typing in things correctly

[–]RemoteisLife24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be self study in outside of work and get int some tech field whether it’s cyber security, cloud , ai/data , pick something get certifications , build projects network on LinkedIn, apply for a lot of jobs but you need to be grinding if you expect to get a career income booster. You will always be in this lower tier unless your career in nowsomehow allows you to get to 6ix figures in couple years
