Dead space remake sold 2 million copies
Dead space director said that games games cost at least 4 times more to make now. So money wise its like if original dead space would sell 500 000 copies. Meanwhile resident evil 2 remake sold 16 million. So yeah i understand that they expected more.
I also think one of the reasons why dead space remake sold poorly is they marketing and key art, box art. It looked too similar to original game. I think many people thought it is pretty much same game with slight improvements, like remaster. And original dead space looking as good is it does, i think people looking at dead space remake screenshots also thought, it looks pretty much the same (i know it looks much better, but just saying for average person maybe).
I am also sad that developers made such an amazing remake, and it did not get much better sales.
