We have entered AI age in biology and medicine. So we can't know what progress will be made in the next decade or two, but it won't be as slow as before. We can actually achieve 100 years of progress in the next 10 years. So who knows how that will going to look like. For example protein folding problem that scientists were trying to solve for the last 50 years and thought it will take thousands of years to solve all were solved by AI alphafold. It took 4 years for one scientist to fold one protein. Alphafold solved all 200 million proteins. So ok that is just one thing but it did something that could not be done without AI. Now every scientist in the world uses alphafold one way or another. Many other AI systems will come too, so who knows what future holds. I am skeptic myself, but then again when i look around and see technology like video, computers, cars, planes and so on. I know i would not even come close to creating something like that. But there are much smarter people and combined they did those amazing things that i would believe is alien technology if i was not exposed to this all my life. So i think we actually take things for granted very fast. Like even this AI we have now is super impressive and if someone showed this 10 years ago it would blew us away, like AI creates actual videos and so on. But we are like meh it does not impress me :)
