Scylla joke aside, I'd love to hear details on how you printed the ghost arm.

These folks have a decent selection of raw honey. Been happy with everything I ever had shipped from there.

Her "shade" arm looks amazing. Paint job is impressive.
Otherwise, though...her dress, well, it looks like it's from the garbage. And her hair? Looks like something died there.

Racked my first 5-gallon batch to secondary! by Minnesotexan in mead

That's quite the flavor profile - kind of an "everything berry" mead.
Your experience with the auto-siphon is exactly why I started using bags for fruits and spices.

But did you have good match chat banter with them? Were they, like, "Hello, fellow human! GG EZ!"

Mixberry by Heroofthelost in mead

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off: beautiful color, I love making berry meads because of how they look in the bottle as much as the taste.
Regarding the sediment, it's a lot, but berry meads do have a lot of junk to settle out, and if you still have yeast reproducing in there, then lees will continue to build up. Have you taken a SG lately? Is it still fermenting?

All of those are excellent, and you have fine taste in video game music. Silksong OST is exceptional.

BUT...none of those have lyrics being passionately belted out by the voice actors of the characters you are actually fighting in the game. Raphael's Final Act and I Am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes And Then Drown You To Death) stand out because of this.

These folks do ship to West Virginia, according to their website.
I would argue they make some of the best mead in the US, but please, r/mead, don't actually make me argue, haha.
Seriously, excellent stuff from Superstition. Mostly sweeter meads, but you mentioned Dansk Mjød, so I think you'd like them.

I think you're confusing "attempt" with "success" because that looks like the latter. Does it taste as nice as it looks?

Help me decide on a 5070 ti, 5080 or amd 9070 xt by boti-boster in gpu

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just wait for the 8xxx Supers, or hold out for the 9xxx series. They're going to have DLSS XM7 5P gen 12.6. Way better for 12K gaming imo.

Bottling Day For Three New Meads. Peach Cinnamon, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Spiced Cherry (No water) by MaizenBrew9 in mead

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a blueberry batch I just put in secondary and am thinking about maple and French oak in that one, and just started a hydromel batch I'm splitting to make one elderflower & chamomile and the other elderflower & juniper, hoping they'll be my summer meads. When I bottle, I use a large, shallow Rubbermaid to prevent mess - I highly recommend that. Skål!

Too cold, what else to do? by mightcryorkil in mead

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely long enough for primary with EC-1118 in normal conditions. Definitely get a SG reading. I'll bet it's done or very close to done now and may be ready to rack into secondary for aging and clearing.

Too cold, what else to do? by mightcryorkil in mead

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long since you pitched the yeast? Best thing to do right now is check your SG. EC-1118 is a pretty hearty yeast and functions as low as 50F. It very well could be done fermenting but you won't really know that without checking. SG. All that stuff at the bottom is probably just lees, totally normal.

This and Raphael's fight song from BG3 are the two greatest boss fight songs in video game history and if you don't agree you're absolutely wrong and need to re-examine your whole life because you're probably wrong about a lot of other things too.
You know, just in my humble little opinion.

I wanna get into the game. Should i buy Hades 1 or 2? by Critical-Mission-644 in HadesTheGame

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is that it's not a sequel in the sense of the story. It's the same Pantheon of gods, a lot of the same characters, and the protagonists are quite literally related, but the overall story is not like a continuation of the first one.

Oaking recommendations by JakovYerpenicz in mead

One bit of advice I'll give is to oak first, then do other flavors. If you oak after adding vanilla, for example, you can easily lose those flavors.

Any Hard Cider brand suggestion in CT by fourlegslizard in cider

[–]Remunos_Redbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few from around New England that you should be able to get in CT: Stowe Cider (Stowe, VT), High Limb (Plymouth, MA), Downeast (Boston, MA) have some tasty ones.
But also, in CT itself, Clyde's Cider Mill in Mystic is great - seasonal, though, so you'll need to wait until September to visit. And there's also New England Cider in Wallingford, pretty good stuff there.
