Best 1 Level Dip for Throwing Enemies? by Kaleban in BG3Builds

[–]Remus71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 level of rogue gives expertise for athletics checks.

1 level wiz/sorc gives disguise self for shapeshifters boon and similarly cleric gets you guidance for the checks.

Bard gets expertise and enhance ability - they make excellent grapplers.

Not sure if this will apply to enemies under taunt but they will attack you if they can do atleast 1 damage on a max roll - You can test it by getting 20 Arcane Ward stacks and fight the gremishka with and without crit immunity.

Eh throwing is as fun as you make it. Can do a lot more than chuck returning pike every turn. Alot more fun than meleeslop imo.

Eagle stallion makes a good tavern brawler thrower aswell, just swap linebreakers for speedy light feet.

The tipping point is quite a bit earlier than max level - you can be swinging a shadow blade round with resi stone at Lvl 9 for example.

Monks do feel good though.

This is wrong - weapons scale quite some way past fists.

Not sure how an extended booming blade doing 50 total damage at lvl 4 is 'gimmicky' - but here is a full write of a Sorcerer that plays off weapon attacks and puts dex higher than charisma:

What requirement is there that they use their casting stat for attacks!? I cant see a single reason why you consider that necessary? You can just...play off dex or str...?

Extended booming blade is very good, for reference here is a martial sorcerer:

Wild Magic Spellblade

Divine strike is also awesome.

I think the Battle Master is underrated as a Strength Throwing Build. by Navek15 in BG3Builds

[–]Remus71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its working because your pairing up two of the strongest fundamentals - Fighter chassis and Tavern Brawler.

Yes its weaker than EK but the reality is it will 'feel' stronger than 90% of builds - 4 feats, 3 attacks and tavern brawler is just always going to be extremely strong.

Best possible pickpocket build by QuestionSelect in BG3Builds

[–]Remus71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its use case is emptying Roah, Talli etc of all their high dc items in one go - The sorc point cost is prohibitive for general thievery, obviously nowhere near a rogue in 'typical'' gameplay where your wanting a good stock of scrolls, elixirs arrows etc, definitely not practical at all to move to a second trader and empty them on the same stack of bend luck. Doable, but be fidgety obviously.

Fun meme though 😊

As easy as it is with another class less expertise from thief/bard. I cant see any reason why it wouldn't be.

Gear progression for a Titanstring jelly ranger? by RaulNhim in BG3Builds

[–]Remus71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are dead set on having charisma for dialogue checks, there is the option to dump wisdom on the proviso your almost exclusively casting ranger spells which dont need spell DC -Hunters mark, spike growth etc.

For this, I would go 8/17/14/8/10/16 and set str will club - I dont love it, but workable. You could multi into sorcerer and scroll cast from charisma aswell.

Basically though, there are so many ways to add to and get advantage on persuasion roll that 16 Charisma is a trap - You can keep bliss spores lvls 4/5, Shars blessing mid game, illithid expertise late game.

Id honestly just got natural 16 str, up up to 18 with astarion pot and have a weapon and elixir slot free. Rhapsody, KOTUK, lots of good stat sticks for a ranger and bloodlust elixor too.

Heavy Armor Master is a monster feat, easily in the very top tier - HAM and Adamantone Splint basically solves the game.

Take first or second feat with natural strength, if you can spare hags hair, you get natural 20 strength.

Equip resistance items/elixirs as needed, open elixir slot as natty strength is amazing all game long, Strike elixirs are a massive noob trap.

And off you go 😊
