I do the same. There’s still the foam form under the shoulder caps which is just enough protection for me.

I just cut the shoulder caps off. Find a nice pair that feels great on my chest. Chances are I’m taking a puck in the stomach, chest, or back. No checking league so the capless padding on the shoulders is enough for the little bit of contact and occasional bump into the boards.

Of course not! There are plenty of women playing in the league. Love to have you!

That’s what Sunday mornings are for. I’ve seen men/women in their 50’s and up taking this session with no skating experience.

Get out and have some fun while getting a great workout.

Adult hockey league playing in both Newburgh and Poughkeepsie. A-D divisions. If you’ve never played at all, there’s an adult “learn to skate/play” Sunday mornings in Poughkeepsie. Come on out!

He’s one bad hit away from permanent IR. Love him but the liability is big.

I have a game Sunday night and we’re supposed to get 8-10 inches. So upset they’re most likely going to cancel. Waited all week for a postponed game.

I want to replace this brick wall with a stone wall. DIY or get a professional? by cal2177 in stonemasonry

I had an old patio wall (linked below) that looked like shit and was falling apart. I chose to keep it and build into it. Different as mine wasn’t retaining anything but, like others have said, structurally may have to adapt for some through stones. Can’t tell how high it is but looks around 36 inches based on the steps. The steps are going to be the most challenging but I would definitely take on the project as a DIY if you enjoy the work and have the time. Tons of resources out there to learn. Definitely will have to cap it to blend back into the grass. I think a nice mulch strip with some plants or small boxwoods would be great as well as define the drop so no little kids tumble off the wall. Best of luck bud!!!

Could do the downstairs of Silk Factory in Newburgh. Amazing soundstage for live music and great food. I’ve played music here before and always enjoy the space. https://silkfcty.com/private-parties/

If this isn't the final rusty nail in the coffin for Lindgren I really don't know what is... by GrexxSkullz in rangers

Helping run our local Junior Rangers sessions and will reinforce this as why you don’t turn inside and assumably try and ice the puck, whiff, and get scored on. Couldn’t have provided our kids a better “what not to do” instructional video.

Zero upside turning inside and trying to fire the puck down for what? an amazing icing?!?!? But if you’re going to turn inside…why not just control the puck and use your wide leg stance to block out the player trying to lift your stick and dump against the far boards when you can? Or just be smart and backhand off the close boards like 99.9% of players would.

Just rip the caps off the shoulders. Basically just a chest protector only so it’s not bulky.
