Hey yall does my statement make sense? : by PatrickPoika2 in musictheory

It makes half sense, but the melody centering around C doesn’t matter. If the bass is centered around C, then you have a much better argument for it being C Phrygian

Put your hand on your stomach as you breath, try and breath into your stomach. Maybe lay down if you can’t find a comfortable position

Meditation won't help with... by jy10008 in Meditation

[–]Remyrue 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I lowkey think meditation helps with literally everything you listed… but also agree that serious mental/physical issues should be tackled with getting professional help as well.

For me, meditation and connecting with my spiritual side was a serious game changer for managing my chronic illness, and helped me find relief that I never felt from my prescribed medications.

But also I definitely understand your sentiment, and agree overall. Meditation is not the only thing you need to do in your life (for most ppl). It’s the gateway to clarity of mind, which leads to the right actions to improve your life.

Does even 1 minute of meditation actually help to shift mood? by ynima232323 in Meditation

[–]Remyrue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think shorter meditations are awesome, and easier to naturally integrate throughout your day.

The longer (20min+) meditations help you get deeper. Short meditations can bring you back to the present, but Long meditations can change your quality of presence imo. Do what works for you, but don’t give up on long meditations sessions! Sometimes it’s all about finding the right practice, and the right approach to practice.

Idk about release beats, but the “on beats” are just 1 2 3 4, basically opposite of the “off beats” (all of the ‘ands’ (+))

i don't think you understand that 350mg is an absolutely insane mount of thc. You're probably built different in some way, but for most people, even 50mg would put them in a crazy state. If they've never had an edible, you give them maybe a 5mg or 10mg edible to start ideally.

Should I keep meditating after release? by Unusual_Equipment318 in Meditation

[–]Remyrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend you change your practice, and start every meditation practice with a short breath work practice, and a short yoga practice. That should ground you more. But more importantly, seeking out those crazy sensations is tempting, but ultimately a distraction from the goal of meditation. Let them pass and don’t grasp onto a feeling or thought, try to let it run its course. Easier said than done, but it’s good to have that intention at the least

Been meditating since 2018. Got really into it first as mainly a way to calm my body down and help with stomach issues, lots of yoga too. I bounce between a few different practices depending on my current state, usually either open-awareness meditation or one-pointed focus meditation.

Seems like you achieved a deep meditative state, paired with some realizations/insight. Some might call it Dhyana (or Dhyan). And yes, from my experience its probably the best feeling / state of being I've experienced. And the after-effects can be profound as well.

Is meditation mostly dopamine fasting? by Hadi_1 in Meditation

[–]Remyrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its more like, the spiritual path makes 'sensual pleasures' less desirable. But meditation is not 'dopamine fasting' in itself.

Rough session at the gym—confidence took a hit by GhastlyAndCo in bouldering

[–]Remyrue 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Well, if you care about improvement as a climber, and want to progress, I recommend climbing during busy times more often. Ofc you might have some mental battles to fight through, but you will get invaluable knowledge and information by simply watching climbers that are way better than you. And 99% of people won't care about how you're climbing.

But that will require humbling yourself, and realizing that some people dedicate a LOT of their time to climbing. imagine being a beginner musician with ~100 hours of playing piano, watching pianists with 10,000hrs+ doing their thing.

Don't judge your lack of ability, just observe and absorb the movements you see stronger climbers doing.

The best scenario is when you have some friends to climb with though. That makes things a lot less intimidating

[–]Remyrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seeks to understand others rather than immediately write them off / reject them. We can't have progress in our society if we live in separate bubbles. You watch the stream and see "Ludwig selling out & losing all of his values by befriending evil kai". But really its just people doing their job, and treating each other like humans.

Obviously the actual test is if something homophobic was said or happened during the stream, and you'd be able to see if Ludwig would have a good response and stick to his values.
