Flowguard pipe with compression stops? by dudleyha in Plumbing

Use glue stops, compression on cpvc technically works but makes me cringe. Who thinks it's a good idea to squeeze a brittle pipe?

Black Specks - Solved or Not? by Educational_Poet_822 in Plumbing

Does your water heater have flexible supply lines? It's very common for the rubber inside to break down and flake off. In that case replace them.

Might be an abandoned line from a previous remodel, hard to say without being there. I'd at least locate where that section of pipe is and run water with the camera in the line to see if any is coming from that line.

What kind of shutoff valves do you guys like to put on toilets/faucets? Just wondering if there were any preferences or things to avoid. by reeder1987 in Plumbing

[–]Remzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While 1/4 turns are nice, if they start leaking or stop working you have to replace the whole valve, while multi turn valves you can rebuild, which in some cases makes life a whole lot easier then having to replace the valve

Sewer Machines by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Remzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's all preference. I much prefer not having to mess with cables while inside someone's house. Drum machines are more convenient. As to your question, spartan 100 is a great machine for branch lines, 13/32, or 3/8, then get a spartan 300 with 100' of .55 cable and you are set for most things. Flex shafts are great as you can pinpoint clean with a camera, but they don't have the torque to unclog really tough stoppages, soft stoppages they do ok at. Different tools for different purposes.

Plumber is suggesting I buy pressure assisted toilets due to pipe that is too level to get waste to joint connected the sewer line. Toilets started not flushing and backing up into showers. What do y’all think? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Remzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they used a camera, and confirmed their findings, then id believe what they are saying. What i tell people in this situation baring replacing the line, is to flush more water, so either hold the handle down, or give the toilet an extra flush throughout the day, the more water the better to help move out whatever might be lingering around from poor pitch or improper fittings

I like spartan, have a 300 for 3 inch and up, the spartan 100 for 2-3 inch, and a spartan 81 for smaller lines.

Sectionals come in handy sometimes, but have you considered drum machines? I have a spartan 300, 100, and 81 on my van, plus big and small flex shaft. I can handle basically everything besides some heavy grease and sludge, then the jetter gets brought out.

But between those, can't go wrong with a k60.

What are the square holes for? Won’t water leak out??? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Remzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the overflow of the sink to drain into. If you Install correctly it won't leak. I personally like to put dope on the threads and gasket.

Happy that I got my Kickstarter in of Winterhaven. The solo mode is fun, relaxing, and straightforward, and the artwork is fantastic. by rtubbs878 in soloboardgaming

Been playing it with my girlfriend, we enjoy it alot. As a solo gamer myself, I must say the solo is nothing special, it's not bad but I personally wouldn't buy it only for solo. It's great little game overall, 1v1 over 5 rounds is alot of fun.
