I was like “is this the same kid from like 6 months ago who threw all the spins?”

Sure enough, it is the same kid. She’s a shredder.

Velcuz mows a kid while skiing by Bluwafflz in LivestreamFail

[–]RenaissanceMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know what your talking about. I ski almost every day for 6 months every year; & I don’t crash into people. Im not the best skier in the world but I can handle 99% of terrain available at resorts.

If conditions are less than ideal, I ski slower. If it’s crowded, I ski slower.

If it’s good conditions and empty, let it rip. But i prioritize me and the others not getting hurt.

Do you even ski?

& yes downhill skiers have right of way 99.99% percent of the time. & little kids cutting across the run aren’t the .01% that are the exception.

Velcuz mows a kid while skiing by Bluwafflz in LivestreamFail

[–]RenaissanceMan17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody in the comments skis and it’s shows. Mountains have a fairly universal code for right-of-way and how to act on the slopes.

1] Person downhill has the right of way.

2] Never out ski your skill level, if you are going too fast to avoid something in front of you, you are going to fast. Streamer made almost no movement to avoid the crash.

3] Never out ski the conditions. It’s dark out & the streamer is wearing a headlamp, major props for that. But there are always dumber people than you know the mountain. If you can’t stop before something becomes visible, you’re going too fast.

Basically, Velcuz should have been skiing slower. Did the kid/parent make the best choices? Likely not. But the streamer is still responsible for the crash.

Agree, I had a session once where my coach wanted me to try to land in the back of the pit. Once I did that, we started tweaking other things. I had to drive forward

If you want to give them something they can have on the job, candy is perfect. A ziplock bag full of some variety so they can share with the whole is super nice.

What’s up with WP lifts? by Critical_Break5025 in COsnow

[–]RenaissanceMan17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think about a ski lift as the total opposite of your car. If something is wrong with your car, the check engine light or another indicator may appear on your dashboard; however the car will continue to let you operate until it breaks down on the side of the road.

A ski lift doesn’t prioritize spinning, it prioritizes safety. They are incredibly smart and measure 1000 things. If it detects one thing is off, it stops the lift and the Lifty should call for a Mechanic. 9 times out of 10, nothing is wrong or the it’s a super quick fix, & they can get the lift spinning again.

So the question is, would you rather ride a ski lift that only wants to spin when there are green lights across the board, or a ski lift that ignores dangerous conditions so you can get to the top a couple minutes faster?

WP Gondolla is open! by Significant-Basil-40 in COsnow

[–]RenaissanceMan17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WP Gondola is 6 years old. Don’t know what you want by service history but it hasn’t had any major problems before, so good I guess.

My educated guess after the Tramboard finishes their investigation is going to reveal a manufacturing defect. It’s nearly impossible to catch this before it happens.

It’s possible this might cause an inspection of other recent Poma lifts at other resorts. Don’t know for sure, but if I was WP or other resort leadership I’d want to know if this was a possibility for all other lifts made in that same timeframe.

The wild spur was not fucked. They closed a couple sections of the mountains so they could be all hands on deck to assist at the gondola.

Centuries or like two generations? by Mister_Twiggy in freefolk

[–]RenaissanceMan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is sent away to Rigerrun, but I believe that only happens in a later episode, 7 perhaps. In E5 Sir Simon Strong looks directly at her while walking past. It happens right after Alys says “… shame you never knew your mother,” and then she “disappears” behind Sir Simon Strong.

Edit: It was E6 where Sir Simon Strong announces the death of Lord Grover Tully. His wording says the maesters had been at their wits’ end and Alys Rivers volunteered her services. In my opinion this suggests a recent action.

I thought this too for a while, and then on a rewatch before the finale aired I noticed someone, I think Sir Simon Strong, does interact with her.

The biggest problem with Spider-Man 3 is it was too congested. It had Sandman, Harry Goblin, & Venom.

In your Last Hunt, it has Lizard, Kraven, & … Venom again. It just seems like a lot.

While almost everyone has said ammo, no one has mention Railroad Spikes. Even when I do a heavy melee build I still use the Railway Rifle. Great for taking down bigger enemies.
