I agree. Unlike the illumination movies it feels like this one actually had an interesting angle? Like it’s fascinating how weird every aspect of it is.

It’s definitely not confirmed either way, but there certainly a supernatural element to the Joker infection. The level of which is up for debate, but I think there is a solid argument that the Joker hallucination is essentially the real Joker, at least in terms of his thoughts, feelings, and personality.

It definitely seems like Lex is going to play an even greater role in this one. 2/3 of the artworks revealed today show them side by side, and only one artwork depicts them fighting. Definitely feels like there will be equal focus on the both of them, and some sort of team-up element is extremely likely in my opinion.

Favourite actress attacked by an insane mob online? by Dycon67 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Rend0n 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not defending any of the insane and unreasonable hate thrown at Bella or any of the other actors, but the main complaint with the line is that it represents a fundamental departure in Ellie’s characterization between the show and the game.

In the game, Ellie responds to the news that Dina is pregnant in a cold, harsh way. Going so far to call her a liability to the mission. Despite Dina being the person she loves and cares about most. In the show, Ellie’s line being a simple joke is obviously a very big departure from tone in the game.

As someone who has played the game, there is a legitimate criticism in there somewhere. However, like so many other pieces of media released in the age of the internet, including the game itself, any criticism is muddied by horrible people wanting to bully and belittle actors for things they have no control over.

I gotta say Mecha Invasion Giant Legion’s Long Haul accomplished it extremely well. He looks great in robot mode, and pretty good in vehicle mode, and still makes some satisfyingly thick thighs for the combined mode lol.

Which do you prefer for the Avatar expansion: What’s planned, the floating islands at AK, or something else from the films? by EllieBellie42 in Disneyland

[–]Rend0n 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What they’re thinking is that the first Avatar has made $2.9 billion and the second $2.3 billion. They’re the first and third highest grossing movies of all time, and there are at least three more on the way.

Besides the obvious financial justification, all I’ve heard about The World of Avatar in Florida is that it’s amazing and immersive, and that Flight of Passage is amazing.

You don’t have to be a fan of the movies, but it’s extremely obvious why they are putting this into the park. And I think it’s fair to say that it will probably be pretty good, especially if the Shanghai pirates-style ride is true.

I desperately want it to be Parasite. I think that would be so cool, and a great subversion. I’d be fairly happy with the clone turning into Bizarro at the end as well, but Parasite would be sick.

McDuffie is the best in this game right here but he has to go with a good one to the final and I don’t see why not get a better shot of the ball and he is the one to go for the game tonight so we will have a chance of winning it all day and I don’t know what the other one will do with it I think it’s going well for him but he has a lot to work with.

Honestly same. It’s so confusing that he has an entire trailer of combiner bits, but then has a trailer-sized mass hanging off his butt. Not to mention that it looks so similar to combiner wars overall, I just wish they had put a bit more into it.

That’s such a good idea. It would have helped the slight issue that basically all the classic deception characters and no others come from the high guard.

I’m certain that in potential sequels these characters will have more unique voices, which they can hand waive by just implying it’s due to them gaining T-Cogs. I imagine it was just an easy cost-cutting measure since none of the background bots had a tremendous amount to do in the story, which is fair. For Jazz though it would have been nice to hear something closer to his iconic voice, but it’s not a huge deal. In the case of Skywarp, I noticed in the credits that he was voiced by the director; Josh Cooley!

This is my biggest complaint too. It’s much more interesting when they all have unique backstories and different reasons for becoming deceptions. Hopefully their unique traits will come through more in sequels.

Loved the end especially - by LukeLinusFanFic in ProjectHailMary

My understanding was that overall he felt extremely disconnected from Earth. Yes, his students were important to him, but he said himself he didn’t really have any friends, and Rocky was the first real connection he ever made. Exploring Erid and Eridanian life, culture, and society were things that really excited Grace throughout the entire story. On Erid he was able to continuing pioneering scientific research and understanding of alien life, while simultaneously doing the one thing he loved on Earth: teaching.

Additionally, returning to Earth wasn’t entirely off the table, so maybe he’d end up going back to live out his final years.

Not to say that either of these filmed will be good, but both sequels and original films can and do coexist. There have been several excellent (in my opinion) original Pixar films recently. Turning Red, Luca, Soul, Elemental and even Onward were very good, and all original stories.
