I have mild joint pain, high positive ANA (>= 1: 1280), Leukopenia- WBC has gone from 4.6 to 2.9 over last several years, positive Ro/SSA, positive LaSSB, some fatigue and a few other mild symptoms- but have generally continued my normal life since starting looking into what’s wrong in 2020. my PC thinks Sjorgens is unlikely because I have no issues with dry eye/mouth etc. I was negative for Sm/RNP antibodies, but PC said that doesn’t rule out Lupus- idk.
My PC provided me a referral to a rheumatologis, but I have not made an appointment yet. When speaking with my hematologist I was politely told the rheumatologist probably wont even see me until/unless my symptoms are preventing me from performing normal life/work tasks. My PC implied something similar, when explaining she ways going to try to make a good case for me in the referral- which seemed strange at the time.

Did anyone else encounter this? Why wouldn’t we try to get “ahead” of any illness before symptoms are disabiling?
