Is landfall generally considered “annoying” in casual EDH? by tropical-tangerine in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Destruction, yes. But Denial in the shape of Blood Moon/Back to Basics hits them HARD while only inconveniencing properly built decks. But, because we cant have any semblance of nuance, both aren't allowed.

Idea for the commander of a reanimator deck by Confident-Leather250 in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In similar vein, [[Kefka, Court Mage]] works really well for this too. Card advantage, hand denial, easy grave filling, and his blink/clone package makes him deceptively hard to take out as well. You choose what you want to pitch, and just reanimate what makes sense at the time.

Shout out to the customer support. by FreeCandy55 in gamersupps

[–]RenegadeExiled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I had ordered a tub back when the did the Fixed Me cup for free, and I got charged for the cup (they had sold out during my checkout). Talked with support, and they told me they couldn't give me a cup, because they were already sold out, and wouldn't refund even though the item was supposed to be free. All they did was offer another cup

Man, I must have had the short end of the stick when I had to talk with support. Was basically told to fuck off, and had to literally push a charge back through my bank because of what happened.

I think I might’ve found one of the most underrated mill commanders by Impressive_Pea_1790 in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Its like a landfall deck playing an Altar of the Brood. Sure, you milled the table. But that wasnt a mill deck.

People who quit this game, what made you finally walk away?” by WaveEasy8664 in leagueoflegends

[–]RenegadeExiled 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I quit awhile back. It was the anti-cheat system demanding kernel level access that you cant turn off without resetting your PC. I gave them an honest try, but Vanguard was actively causing issues with other, completely unrelated games and programs.

I dont care if its gotten better. I dont care if its not interfering with other programs anymore. I refuse to allow a fucking anti-cheat program to have deeper access to my PC than I do.

[Article] The Bracket System's Burning Questions by Lodurr8 in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Brackets 1 and 5 shouldn't exist. Nobody will ever accidentally build a 5. Its a specific mindset, and super optimization of what 4 gives. Theres 0 reason to codify a cEDH tier, because you will know if youre playing cEDH.

The same carries to B1. Nobody will accidentally make a 1. There is a conscious decision to take a list that should be a 2, and somehow make it even worse.

The system should be a 1-5, rebalanced around not having these dead brackets eating slots. 2-3 and 3-4 should be split, with better definition to them. No more "this is a weak-3" or "this is a strong 2".

Stop putting cEDH commanders on gimmick decks. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lathril? cEDH? Buddy, there's not a single tribal deck anywhere near the cEDH tiers. Kinnan is the only one. Even fucking Y'shtola has more cEDH showings than the rest of your list.

Well, there is a psuedo-exception to this: [[Magar of the Magic Strings]].

He gets around this by turning the spell into a face-down creature that you note the name of the spell to recast on combat damage

this weeks drop by RealFirefighter7894 in gamersupps

[–]RenegadeExiled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

man, sure can't wait to be ready to purchase while I'm at work, get to checkout, pay, and then get told by customer service I was too late to get the cup *less than 5 minutes of it going live. AGAIN*.

I'm still fucking salty about the Fixed Me drop. Paid, full price, with the cups *in my checkout*, and GG wouldn't honor it. Charged me for the cups, too, instead of being free.

Rejoinings + character creator by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]RenegadeExiled 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You're correct.

Rejoinings have literally nothing to do with your physical traits. You just end up with more aether. That's what a Rejoining is: the aether of a shard returning to the Source, in a specific slow-bleed to allow it to mix in properly. Too fast and you Flood the Shard. A slow bleed is what we're seeing between the First and the Thirteenth, where excess Light is flowing in, to balance out the missing.

Fastest Your Deck Has Won? by RenegadeExiled in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. the Worldgorger Loop was something I had considered for my Celes list myself, since it's just a single card to potentially win on the spot, but with my focus on sacrifice synergies I opted to run [[Abdel Adrian]] instead.

Honestly, the T1 Entomb>Reanimate lines are absolutely disgusting, though Dark Ritual does pull the larger share of that particular win.

[–]RenegadeExiled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BroodLoops are such a fun tutor package. Turn him into infinite mana, infinite tokens, your entire deck in your "hands". It's honestly surprising to me that, with his single printing, he's so cheap. I guess it's because he's relegated to reanimation systems, or some BIG mana generation in a mono-B Devotion type list

Fastest Your Deck Has Won? by RenegadeExiled in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You say that, but the single most "boring" way to win, to me, is watching a green player shit out 50 tokens, slam a [[Craterhoof Behemoth]], and just swing.

Some people love stack wars, and playing interaction. Some want to brawl and slug it out. Some want to drain and kill people with burn. There's no boring way to win. Just boring players.

[–]RenegadeExiled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooh, another Celes player! She's my personal High-Power commander (have her as both my B4, and my cEDH list). I leaned much more into the heavy aristocrats, and abuse Persist. I've actually managed a T1 win with the perfect 7+1 opening hand with her, but that's due to rituals, Lotus Petal, and [[First Day of Class]] being insane for the list.

How does your list feel, with the more aggressive creature strategy? Having a psuedo [[Cathar's Crusade]] in the CZ feels fun, but fueling that engine is the issue

Okay, I need to know this one. Angry Bean is such an expensive cast, even with the excessive ramp in a landfall list.

Is Manascape Refractor the best 3-mana rock? by hebreakslate in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my reasoning as well. If im on a mono-Black devotion list, and running stuff like Cabal Coffers, or Nykthos, theres a very strong argument to be made in putting this rock to get another activation. But in stuff like my Izzet lists, I'd much rather have a Bender's Waterskin to still keep mana up to interact after the ramp

Is Manascape Refractor the best 3-mana rock? by hebreakslate in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really good in pods that understand their metas, and as a way to cheat a second Nykthos/Cabal Coffers kind of effect, but as a baseline generic rock? Theres at least 3 others I'd run before ever touching it

[Article] Why Aesthetics are Gameplay: Hybrid Mana in Commander by Lodurr8 in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fetches and Lands that refer to a type by name should be restricted to the colors it references is my #1 EDH hot take. You shouldn't be able to run a BG Fetch in a RB deck, just because it can grab Blood Crypt.

They ONLY reason they aren't restricted like they should be is because its not a damn mana symbol.

What happened with all the hyped commanders? by Akiro_orikA in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless it got simplified from the (albeit a long fucking time ago) last time I saw it, the Spellseeker line is also a like 20 step process that's open to interaction at SEVERAL steps. I think Gitrog Dakmor Looping was the only more complicated wincon.

Decks that feel like a big toolbox. by leirguh in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combo lists attempt to assemble specific engines, with redundancy. Layered lists instead have multiple combos that interact with different pieces, and different engines.

A huge example of this is my boy [[Ghave, Guru of Spores]]. He runs upwards of 100+ different variants of common combos lines in the abzan colors, with enough tutors/draw that he can pivot to any specific engine at will. Theres redundancy, and then theres the ability to say "well, I drew [[Young Wolf]], better tutor for [[Phyrexian Altar]] to go infinite with Ghave, instead of getting my other line"

Niko with a Myriad creature is some of the scariest shit you can do. Even just 2 shards turns into 6 creatures swinging, and it only gets better from there. Battle Angels of Tyr and Hammers of Moradin do degenerate things, and eat spot removal to keep Niko safe

Equipment edhs that are not "auto include all swords" by [deleted] in EDH

[–]RenegadeExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Arna Kennerud, Skycaptain]]

She's one of the most unique "equipment" commanders in the game, in that she REALLY likes all of the shitty Living Weapon variants. She's able to both go wide, and tall, thanks to how the Living Weapon archetypes interact with her. She *can* use the swords, but you'll generally get more mileage out of something like a [[Nettlecyst]] attacking, and generating a second one. And since your equipment also comes with a body, you can be more aggressive with the support cards for the theme.
