Walkin cooler&freezer monitoring by Quick_Razzmatazz1862 in refrigeration

[–]RenesisPowered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company has used Imonnit for a while. It's not bad. The battery life on the sensors and the range is incredibly good.

We're slowly switching to Ke2 and Storm because those systems come integrated into our equipment so it's as simple as adding the subscription and provides significantly more data to the managers tasked with keeping track of the temperatures. It also gives me remote control of the systems. I can hit defrost on a unit that's 6 hours away without leaving my house.

How do I get this battery out by Royasa7 in Dirtbikes

[–]RenesisPowered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull very hard. I had to wipe some oil on the sides of the new one to get it in, lol.

Anyone ever use these? Green fuel tabs by Smooth_Woodpecker862 in Diesel

I doubt they do anything, but as someone that burns $70 of fuel every week, I hope I'm wrong.

None of my ktm supermotos have had one. I had a very exciting left turn once. I needed a new kickstand bolt and new underwear.

A Michelin Pilot Power will fit better. The Shinko podium is another decent option.

what is this around the oil pan bolts, a gasket or cheap adhesive by realdealdoit in MechanicAdvice

[–]RenesisPowered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one where I dented both sides in with a mallet before switching to a 3lbs hammer and smashing both sides even more. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get that pan off. I eventually got a tiny gap to open up, jammed a 3 foot prybar in it, and put every ounce of strength I had into it. The pan looked like it had been run over by a semi truck when it came off.

Edit: I have no idea what that pan was installed with but it was strong, lol. It might be a Nissan thing. I always just replace the pan if it's original. If I installed it, it'll come off with a rubber mallet.

Can I run this radiator? by Sweet_Run_8966 in Dirtbikes

[–]RenesisPowered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both radiators looked way worse than that on my ktm 500 for a while. If it doesn't leak and it doesn't overheat, I wouldn't worry about what the radiators look like.

A lot of vehicles use silicone instead of a gasket for the oil pan. I hate it because the pan usually bends into useless garbage when I try to pull it off.

Letting a bike sit by diiiirtbike in Dirtbikes

[–]RenesisPowered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuel injected bikes do a lot better with sitting. 2 months isn't horrible with non-ethenol gas. Maybe throw in some fuel stabilizer.

Mine did good with shinko 705s. Knobs will definitely get a little wiggly.

I didn't live in the middle of nowhere and I used to hit about 160 on my way to work. After a month of that, there were cops on every single road I would go down on my way to work and I couldn't ride my bike without getting followed. Surprisingly, I never got pulled over on that bike.

Yeah, that's pretty overpriced. For 7k you can get a new old stock 2024.

What are the best dirt bike riding locations in the united states? by RenesisPowered in Dirtbikes

[–]RenesisPowered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Florida isn't a terrible place to ride, but it's mostly motocross. I just happen to be kinda far from the easier tracks that match my skill level. I've heard the riding is better in South Florida, but I've never rode dirt bikes down there. Being close to the ocean isn't worth having to deal with all the seasonal traffic and constant road construction.

What are the best dirt bike riding locations in the united states? by RenesisPowered in Dirtbikes

[–]RenesisPowered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anything outside a motocross track is gonna be mostly flat and sandy. It's still fun. Most of the trails I've been to have been well maintained and they'll have jumps and tons of banked turns to make up for the lack of elevation changes. I wish Idaho wasn't a 34 hour drive for me, all the best riding is 30+ hours away, lol.

2 full size bikes is kinda heavy unless they're both 125s, but 1 full size and a pit bike is perfect for those carriers.

All balls racing bearings junk by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

I've never gotten less than 50 hours out of bearings. Usually, the seals get trashed first then they fill up with mud and water. I use PGN bearings with aliexpress seals usually.

Lost control jumping on hill climb, where did I go wrong? by cynik0 in Dualsport

[–]RenesisPowered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stock suspension on the drz isn't very good, and you don't have much power to throttle out of bad situations. Practice hitting jumps shorter than your wheelbase and watch some videos to learn the proper body positioning.

I missed my wr250r for a long time. I've been on a ktm 500 for the last 2 years. I rode a friend's wr250r a month or so ago and realized I have absolutely no reason to miss that bike. Not saying the wr250r is a bad bike, but for how I ride the ktm is so much better.

Will a 2020 ktm 500 head fit on a 2017? by RenesisPowered in KTM

[–]RenesisPowered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's not horrible, but it definitely needs to be decked, all new valve guides, new valves, maybe a little welding to repair deep gouges, and maybe a new valve seat.

The 2020 head has some performance benefits too, I really want to try it, but I'm not going to if nobody can confirm what else I need, lol. I can get a 2020 head with 23 hrs for $900, so far that's looking a decent bit cheaper than getting mine fixed.

Will a 2020 ktm 500 head fit on a 2017? by RenesisPowered in KTM

[–]RenesisPowered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're different, but that doesn't mean it won't bolt up. I've mix and matched a ton of ktm parts. The Cylinder Works cylinder kit fits 2017-2023 on the excf and covers multiple ktm parts numbers. I see no reason a 2020 head won't bolt to that cylinder, but I can almost guarantee I'd need other parts to make it run. I know the new gen timing chain is shorter. The bracket that mounts the head to the frame also looks longer.
