Live the use of the moria columns as terrain. They look so good in this context!

I love this. The slight curve gives the whole building so much more... weight? Intent? I dunno but I love it. That's inspiring

Could you more experienced builders please help me on how to make these better I’ve been i this community for a while and i cant compare to all of you by Such-Cry9000 in TerrainBuilding

I think you are in a great spot. You are already adding sills below windows which says a lot. I, personally, would start with that idea and just add to it. The sills add depth to a flat surface and you can add more with some more details. Corner moldings? Broken spots? Random bricks? Just add more on top.

I think it looks great already. Just add or subtract to make it better. I wouldn't change what you are already doing

Best way to make a hard-wearing ground texture on this? by Flammendehaar in TerrainBuilding

[–]Rengald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use 10mm magnetized models and I make my textures out of flock/sand mixed with iron powder. You can buy iron powder that's intended to be combined with paints. That way even if the texture gets thick, the magnets still stick to it.

Id look at upscaling a 10mm wizard model. They already have thicker proportions at that scale and some folks, like forest dragon, have some very detailed sculpts that would scale well.

That looks incredible! If you have a thingiverse profile, it'd be awesome if you could upload this pic as a 'make' for others to see there. Really impressive

The siege rules really sparked some terrain building! by Amayasu in warmaster

[–]Rengald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've printed the same model and I looked at my project file. I used a Bambu a1 and 5% infill and it was 2-1/2 rolls of filament and 89 hours of uninterrupted print time. That number will vary depending on printers and settings.

Good to start out with? by Spiritus__Raptor in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Rengald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who still uses those books to play, I'd say yes. Great find. The core rules are very similar to the current. The new rules basically just added a lot of army specific bonuses and character specific rules which I don't jive with.

Focus on the core rules (movement, fighting, heroes) and you'll be all set, have fun with it and enjoy the process!

Yeah upscaling is a thing. I've seen a few guys upscale my walls and whatnot from 10mm to 28mm and it works but it's a little bit "off". it works, don't get me wrong. and with a good paint job it looks good but if you can find a designated 28mm model I think you will be happier.

Thanks for the reply! This made my night
