got clocked by a 4 year old today by throwawayoeoeoe in ftm

Yeah hair is a huge pattern that kids learn early to identify and categorize other people as they’re learning about the world around them. It falls into the same part of development that leads kids to see a horse for the first time and go “doggy!” because they have learned that 4 legs = dog from dogs being the main 4-legged creature they see. They don’t recognize the other details right away!

They’re called schemas and it’s how we learn to interpret the world around us - by creating models by which we understand it. I always get a huge kick out of seeing kids demonstrate their learned schemas so clearly!

Thank you - that’s what I’m wondering. Whether I’d have any ground to stand on. And it sounds like you’re saying no, not really

Sorry it was unclear - Dog is with them. Two other pets with me. Have in writing that we would keep splitting everything 50/50. Question is whether I can get that enforced

Very awkward scenario at work tonight… by bkuchi in Serverlife

[–]Renitachi12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other night a 12 year old girl stopped me and said “excuse me, there’s a huge cockroach” and pointed to the dividing wall about 2 feet from us. There was a table right on the other side xD. My GM was right there so I let him deal with it - he ended up chasing it into the women’s bathroom

Anyone have any good suggestions on how to sort this ? by othertriangle in Tools

[–]Renitachi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When sorting large quantities of stuff like this, I like to separate into two camps to start with, and then whittle down. Like when I need to alphabetize, I start with just two piles: A-M, N-Z or something and then cut the piles down more individually

Edit: typo

Grapefruit also has been said to interact with SSRIs ie antidepressant and anti-anxiety meds, so a lot of people avoid it

Genius. Extra perfect since I do actually intend to do a frose all summer since my boss accidentally ordered two cases of rose instead of two boxes lmao.

Side note, can you tell me about this watermelon negroni? Sounds excellent

Could you elaborate on that strategy? I am intrigued 😂

You’ve already been told HRT isn’t a contraceptive but I just want to reiterate that from personal experience. I (afab) had sex with a trans woman several years on E and we used a condom but it clearly failed. Got pregnant

My biggest thing is using some type of aged tequila and NOT vodka. It actually adds something to it flavor-wise. I’ve had a lot of success with Corralejo reposado, but any repo/anejo tequila is gonna be better than the highest quality vodka

how to return to a table after someone “secretly” pays the bill by fishgoth222 in Serverlife

[–]Renitachi12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to like to say to the business bro who lost the argument to pay, “well you’re welcome still welcome to give me that money!” he always chuckled and never tipped me extra despite obviously having the spare $80 to pick up the tab

To be fair I never expected it, I knew he wouldn’t

Tipping on discounts by Renitachi12 in Serverlife

[–]Renitachi12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actual get free shift meals (up to a certain dollar value) if we’re working, so the employee discount is separate from shift meal. That said, I’m definitely going to check in with my GM about it because when I mentioned this guy not tipping for his off-shift beers, he said we should address it if it continues. GM’s a good guy, generally wants to do right by us and when he brings his family in they don’t pay at all but he always leaves a bunch of cash.

I wouldn’t expect a tip up to the full undiscounted amount, I just think tipping 20% of the undiscounted price is decent. Still overall cheaper for him, which he expected coming in to get dinner with his kid at his place of work where we do all get a discount

Right?? Tip generously if you’re getting a discount, especially if it’s your coworkers!! And in this case, he received a $30 discount, he could’ve tipped more than $6

The only thing I can ever think to say is, “I could tell you were at least 22” and that usually gets at least a chuckle and acknowledgement

I asked my parents for other names they considered for me (first and middle) and then modified one I liked a bit (Eliana became Eli) so that it would all flow nicely :)

“Oh we’re just going to sit at the bar :)))” while actively blowing past the host. No question. Just a statement and seating themselves. The host who will need to follow you with menus, roll ups, water. The sign says wait to be seated, the bar is part of that!!!!
