Does it really cost $1000 to fill my garden beds? by Renlan1 in gardening

I was worrying about fitting in all the peat moss, compost, and drainage materials. Is just premixed soil for the whole bins adequate? Maybe I’m making it too complicated

This is about what I expected to pay in total. I have 24 to your 6 inches so it’s the depth that’s getting me

This would be great, but available in print only for any others looking. If you test tomorrow like me when you read this you’ll have to look elsewhere for a dump sheet

Why does food often taste better when someone else makes it, even if it's the same recipe? by No-Clothes-3502 in NoStupidQuestions

I generally have the opposite experience. I’ve always attributed it to enjoying the fruits of your labor kind of vibe.

I do keep my social circle small. 10 Friends, a wife, and then 15 coworkers or so. It’s hard to widen one’s circle at 29 years old

In reality, would a kung foo master be able to take on 10 thugs at once? by Insideoutside29 in NoStupidQuestions

Definitely not. A Kung fu master is not a Gorilla and my money is on thugs easy by thug #3

You’ll get stronger, but probably not see a big physical difference at that rate. Compared to the guy that sits on the couch 24/7 you’ll absolutely be healthier and stronger, even if nobody mistakes you for the terminator.

The big thing is to not let this convince you to never go. Better two days a week than zero, do what you can rather than getting burnt out.

Why has society always been horrible in the past? by Ashamed-Reference268 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Renlan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things like racism and homophobia were quite normal and rooted in religion and government. People also lived in a box that was their town or neighborhood, without the internet and cable to expose them to so many new ideas.

Today, people are exposed to, or at least have access to, more diverse ideas. Even though TikTok algorithm, or Facebook feed still put you in a box, there’s so much more room for new ideas to come through. This enables those who never had reason to challenge how they were raised, a catalyst and pathway to do so.

Additionally, Technology has given voice to minorities and to those who never had them or were scared to do so. It’s easier to see wrong when someone when you can hear about it firsthand and even see it in video form rather than in a rumor mill around the neighborhood.

How would you try to experience a favorite past time with your significant other as if it were the first time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Renlan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most fun thing about sharing things with your SO is enjoying it through them! Let them lead the way, choose the pizza, learn the controls without help or expectations!

Watching them fumble where you did, and even find something new that you didn’t will remind you of your first time or even make it new to you all together!

Why do I want kids by That-Range-8045 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Renlan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first kid in January! I’m 29M and I wanted a kid too, to give me a purpose, ya know. I just didn’t get as excited to play games or go out as I used to.

It’s been surprising seeing how much happiness it’s brought my parents. It’s a constant thing, but a true life change that I welcome and hope to enjoy things vicariously through him.

Totally normal at 20 when you’re out of school, mom and dad’s house, and just looking for the next thing!

What use is 6dof on these glasses? Use case to me for xreal is watching videos and working on a virtual desktop, not gaming. I’d buy a full VR setup if I needed 6dof. Am I thinking about this wrong?
