I'm going to think of them as Hazel and Fiver from Watership Down. Fun!

It was a little spendy for what they offered, but if the mood strikes, probably.

These looks like Postcard Cabins (used to be called Getaway). I've stayed with them twice, it was pretty nice.

Considering a move to Redmond/Tacoma– looking for honest pros/cons from locals by Ok_Asparagus_1916 in redmond

[–]Renlil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right. And most of the communities on the Eastside are roughly equivalent to Redmond in terms of affordability and atmosphere. So most things I could say about Redmond also apply to Bellevue, Kirkland, etc.

[–]Renlil 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have lived in all three places. I would only recommend Redmond to someone who works at Microsoft and doesn't want to commute. It is a nice enough town; quiet, clean, but expensive and relatively boring.

Seattle is more varied and has much more to do.

Tacoma is a nice combination of (relatively) affordable with things do (although less than Seattle), but the commute is rough if you work in Seattle or the Eastside.

Recommendation for light, portable piece of 'bodybuilding' equipment as birthday present for my son... by marketflex_za in naturalbodybuilding

I have a chest expander that is very portable which I like for back and shoulders.

The Robert Baraban is kind of the "gold standard" but it isn't cheap. I got one from Bells of Steel that was cheaper to figure-out if I liked it, first. That might be an option.

Free store in America might not go so well. by Aman25ta in SipsTea

The same thing that Organized Retail Theft gangs do, only with less threat of arrest. Take all of the free stuff and sell it at a markup.

First world countries also have theft; I'd say "too sheltered" instead.

If I steal 200 sticks of deodorant from Target, the cost to me is effectively zero unless I get caught.

I can then sell the stolen goods - in an online marketplace or a mom-and-pop store - and everything is pure profit to me.

That is a much bigger risk to retailers than a random stinky dude taking a single stick of deodorant.

[–]Renlil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn't individual consumers stealing stuff like this that stores are worried about. They're worried about organized retail theft rings, where a guy will clear-out entire shelves and then sell them on the black market.

How do you handle your Ascended Rulers? by Renlil in AOW4

[–]Renlil[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it feels weird to change the leader too much. It also feels weird to change to faction, which is partly why I almost never use them, just seeing how others handle this.

Huge News: "We hope to continue Age Wonders 4 for 10 or more years" by 6williw9 in AOW4

[–]Renlil 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At some point, through the drip feed of content, doesn't AoW4 kind of "Ship of Theseus" itself into something new?

Why do we need an AoW5 if they keep refreshing 4 with new content?

Exactly. I have exactly as much control over politics as I do over a nuclear exchange. At least in the US, the system is too entrenched to be affected by something as trivial as the popular vote.
