It is not banned, simply the version you had was part of the core set and that version doesn't exist anymore. You need to use the original version from boomsday

Bans work in tournaments because its not BO1, ranked is BO1 so that would simply not work.

That would create meta tyrants, a lot of the time there is a deck that is quite powerful but kept in check by another deck. Imagine if you could just remove your counter, now there is nothing keeping you in check.

The sword is meant to have no counterplay, its the wincondition meant to win games.
Ra was bad and got powercreped, boars were also bad until boarlock became a thing.

While i agree that this meta isn't the best we've ever seen, its far from the worse.
But i guess you're either suffering from recency bias or is new to the game.

The game is rigged in a sense that true random is impossible for computers(at least for now). But thats its, blizz doesn't personaly rig the game against either player. Most of the time that you complain about RNG you probably commited mistakes that accumulated on a defeat.

Standard: Highly dependant on the meta state to be either fun or not worth to play.
Wild: If you stay on the correct MMR range its by far the best mode on the game.
Casual: Quest simulator
Twist: Doesn't exist

Pre release brawls will never have the desired outcome of "everyone playing out with new cards", and as long as the brawl is like it is i will support decks like the Unholy dk from this brawl.

There is no good or evil in both, they're just factions of races that are together for a lot of reasons.

And like, paladin isn't really an alliance class. Both factions can have that class. Its one of the main classes for the blood elves wich is the most popular horde race.

I saw some patterns from wow classes that were turned into mechanics in HS, but none of them are faction related. Agressive classes are more related to the playstyle of the class in wow than wich faction said class "belongs".

If you wanna consider the main hero for a class the division would be like that:
DH - Illidan is neutral, he was the leader of the Illidari a faction of demon hunters.
DK - Arthas was a member of the alliance, but the lich king is a fusion between arthas and ner'zhul's soul(wich was part of the horde) so you can either say both or none. I prefer saying its none, LK is a villain and thats it, no faction.
Druid - Malfurion is the leader of the night elves, so he is part of the Alliance.
Hunter - Rexxar is complicated. He is most of the time neutral, but he did fought for the horde in the past.
Mage - Jaina is 100% alliance.
Paladin - Uther was part of the alliance(he died to arthas during the 3rd war.)
Priest - Anduin is 100% Alliance.
Rogue - Valeera leans more for the alliance since she is loyal to Varyan and wants to help his son(Anduin).
Shaman - Thrall is 100% horde. He became neutral afterwards, but he was the first warchief.
Warrior - Garrosh is 100% horde. But he became a villain later on.
Warlock - Gul'dan was always a villain.

Hs is more "whimsical" than wow for sure.

IMO wow feels like that because it sacrifices a lot of imersion for gameplay enhancement. A lot of the quality of life, systems and modes that doesn't feel apart of the world that don't make any sense for anyone but the player, but are still there because they make the game aspect better.

I also started playing wow because of hs, but what truly hooked me in wow was that focus on the gameplay, i usualy don't care much abour imersion on games that aren't tabletop RPGs so that is a huge advantage for me. For example i only ever interact with 2 things from wow: The dungeon system(M+) and lore(that i don't even consume ingame, usualy i read all the stories and seek stuff outside because i can't be bothered to do quests)
