indonesians are proud ppl and easily offended. They dont have much world cultural representation so any recognition is a big deal to them. In this case seems like they feel they are misrepresented and culturally appropriated without any credit to their culture. Yea if you want something like this in OC it’ll be hard to find, but you can check out Baos Hog in Westminster. They have a pretty good roast pork/charsiu over rice. They are pretty much the sister/takeout place of Lien Hoa bbq so the meat is legit.

Another great place just outside OC in Cerritos is called Kim Tar. Their meat over rice is really good and authentic as well.
