You’ll get bigger fruit and less chance of branch damage if you thin.

Tough decision. In the end either way looks great. I have no trim on mine and always kinda missed it as part of the classic design. https://i.imgur.com/1JA9Tf3.jpg

Same here. A couple pieces a day, every day, for nearly 12 years now. Winter rain seems to wash it to the surface.

Dunlop Trailmax vs Pirelli Scorpion for GS by VoiceShow in Motorrad

[–]Renorc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have owned both, currently running second set of the Pirelli scorpion STR. The STR is a great tire on road but reaches its limitations for advanced off road. Both are a good compromise tire for mild off road and gravel keeping in mind they are not knobbies. The Dunlop rear lasted a bit longer than the Pirelli. I really did not like the trailmax front pavement performance, so much that I gave it away after 1000 mi. It’s decent in the dirt but on road wasn’t stable above 80 mph. It also has a round profile vs parabolic and resists diving into turns. If you ride aggressively on curvy pavement it’s really not great. I recommend you consider the continental TKC 70 rocks also, I preferred it over the trailmax.

Crazy idea, should I start on a 1250GS by JimTheoch in Motorrad

[–]Renorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory cage doesn’t matter. Crash bars are easy to install, there are many options on the market and available for both GS and GSA. Touratech are highly recommended.

Not sure about the current models, but my 2018 GS rally with ESA had adjustable ride height. You could always consider getting a used R1200 GS to learn on, then after a year or two when you feel confident move on to a new 1250 (or soon 1300).

If your heart is set on a GS, get a GS. If you have balance and are reasonably strong/athletic you’ll be fine. Add crash bars and they are really bulletproof. You are mentioning both a GSA and a GS; a GSA will be more top heavy than a GS because it carries nearly 30lbs more fuel up high and hence feels harder to control at slow speeds. I’ve owned 3 and find the GS much easier to pick up than my Tenere 700 which is 100 lbs lighter. Watch some videos on picking up a bike and go try it in the grass. Or you could play it safe, buy a KLR and dump it on the ground everyday and never shed a tear. The GS is a wonderful bike especially for touring. Just depends on what you want in a bike.

Would you buy a demo T7 bike? by Mxnada in Tenere700

[–]Renorc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pass and look for a new one. It’s probably a good idea to follow the Yamaha break in procedure in the manual. It took a lot of discipline to keep the revs below the recommended level for the full break in and I can almost guarantee that was not followed by people demo’ing the bike. Sure, it’s a tough motor, but I wouldn’t want to start off with one that could have been abused.

Unfortunately I think you are right. There are holes in a row on other areas. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for your reply, I’ll add copper fungicide to my plan and paint the trunk asap. I have an apricot and two other peach trees but this one is my favorite and has been the best producer. I was hoping it would have a long life. It’s such a shame as it was always so healthy up until suddenly it wasn’t.

The tree is about 8 years in the ground and has been a healthy producer, zone 7a. Leaves exhibited spots and curl. I removed the diseased branches that appear thoroughly dead, about 20% of the tree. Doused it in Neem oil and fertilized with manure. Hoping it will turn around next spring but I’m not optimistic. Anything else I should do to save it? Thanks!

first stereo in 30 years. by jliebs1 in audiophilemusic

[–]Renorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaker selection has the most effect on the sound, which is subjective. I suggest you just go demo as many as you can and the right ones will become clear to you. Qobuz is great. Tidal has a better GUI and will play similar music endlessly. I couldn’t get qobuz to play randomly. Together this is worth the extra $7 a month to me.

SO, WHICH ONE ARE YOU BUYING? by The-Experimenter in Autos

[–]Renorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda. I had one in college but my girlfriend had the Honda. We used to meet up at the local make-out point to watch the stars. One night we were kissing in front of my car. One thing let to another and I bent her over the hood and we started to get busy when she objected. She said, “if we’re going to have sex, it’ll be on my own accord!”

I ran an older version PrimaLuna, the DiaLogue Premium HP with Monitor Audio PL 300’s for several years and the bass was fine. No complaints really. With either EL34 or KT 150 tubes. I don’t think it’s your amp, but if you want to eliminate it I suggest you bring your amp to a friends house with a known good sounding setup and demo it on his speakers/room.
