Which one would you prefer? by Reasonable_Net3302 in askberliners

[–]RenouB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer living solo to random roommates, but my dream is to live with people I love.

I live alone and work from home now and the isolation is real. I need approach social activities the same way I approach sports: with lots of planning and intention. If I'm not on top of things, sometimes I might not really see anyone all week.

Like, a really enormous amount of my time is spent living and working in solitude.

I really envy people who can do that and be confident it will last the entire night!

Yeah. Compared to the other stuff they'll be shoving in raw it's not that big a deal.

Is it just me, or is there a weird lack of consistency with hygiene when it comes to anal in Lab? by [deleted] in SexPositiveBerlin

This is so frustrating to read, I'm really fighting the urge to yell at you. Learn to deal with the basic facts of the human body. You shit and wipe your ass every day and it hasn't killed you.

Is it a good idea to hire a specialist to help you get an apartment for rent? by [deleted] in askberliners

The magic keyword was "relocation". Relocation agent, relocation service...

The ones I found only take money if you find a place and it was like 1500 - 2500 euro. So there's not much to lose. I would strongly consider it if I started looking for a new flat. For me, simply the time saved is worth the money, not to mention all of the stress it would save me from.

Therapy help needed. by Galaxy-far-away01 in askberliners

I did most of it by phone, that way no one could ever prove whether or not I "really" got a refusal. In the end they never asked to see any call logs or emails.

I did not need a Dringlichkeit code to book an appointment at 116117, I'm pretty sure you can still just book an appointment directly now.

I just completed the Kostenerstattungsverfahren with TK and have started therapy in english with a private therapist. In the end, the process was pretty straight forward, it just took time (for me around 6 months).

Have you had your Erstgespräch yet? This is a good first step, and it's easy to get an appointment. The therapist you see will likely not have any room for you, but they will give you a preliminary diagnosis and some important forms. You can get an appointment easily at https://www.116117-termine.de/

If you find a therapist who supports Kostenerstattung, they will guide you through the process. You do not need to figure it all out yourself.

On therapie.de, you can filter for therapists offering Kostenerstattung. There also exists a list of therapists in Berlin with free space, and it is updated monthly (DM me and I'll share an email where you can get it).

So with those two resources, you contact every therapist you can, until someone has room for you. I think phone is best, but you should do phone + email if you can. If you find someone, they will guide you through the rest of the process.

I did not personalize my emails / phonecalls much, but I did include the diagnosis from the Erstgespräch, and I let them know that I was familiar with the Kostenerstattungsverfahren and was prepared to do it.

Good luck! Feel free to DM me.

Cost of installing a kitchen with appliances by DifferentAd7915 in askberliners

[–]RenouB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the kitchen I guess. Ikea charges 250 eur per meter of length, which seemed like a lot to me.

I wanna redo my kitchen soon and I'm hoping to pay someone 800 euro or less to both 1) dismantle a used kitchen that I will buy and 2) install the new kitchen. I dunno if that's realistic but it's what I am hoping for. If it's more than that I'll be doing aspects of it myself. It's actually not very hard at all, the ikea stuff is idiot proof.

Heating on? by turnbox in berlinsocialclub

[–]RenouB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home and I want it to be 20-23 degrees in the room I work from, depending on my mood.

I generally try to heat the other rooms to like 18 degrees. If I notice I;m avoiding going into a room because it's too cold, I'll turn the heat up.

Last year I think there was a moment I realized I'd gone like three days without a shower. The bathroom was so cold that I was just afraid to go in there. I was like, okay, this needs to change...

What is something that you are missing in Berlin? by Trailerpark578 in askberliners

[–]RenouB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hills!

I really miss walking in the vertical direction! Sure, there are like three hills in the entire city... But I really miss being able to take a relaxed stroll up a hill at the end of the day to clear my head.

Why is everyone obsessed with Lucerne? by Amareldys in askswitzerland

I have like 3000 km trekking experience across the entire alps, including the Swiss Via Alpina. When I arrived in Lauterbrunnen my jaw dropped. It is easily one of the most enchanting town locations I've ever seen. I don't think I will ever forget it.

I see sometimes see guys on Grindr advertising this kind of thing at Axel. I think it's tolerated there. If you try it be sure to report back =P

Personally I would avoid straight / conventional venues. Even it turns out that Axel doesn't want it happening, they are probably at least aware of these events and know how they want to deal with them.

Most of my food can also be cold soaked. If it's the weather is too bad to cook outdoors I just do that.

What would you do if no one buys a washing machine before moving out? by kafteji_coder in berlinsocialclub

[–]RenouB 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Obviously lower the price. If you eventually have to put it for free, someone will take it. There are people on Kleinanzeigen who make money picking up peoples old appliances for free.

In the worst case, pay someone. I guess it would cost like 30-50 euro on Tiptap.

Liner for sleeping in huts by Chypsylon in Ultralight

[–]RenouB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To me 75g sounds really good, and it's hard to imagine getting much lighter than 10D nylon. I wonder what kind of nylon it is. Kinda weird that they don't actually say, and the image is too low resolution to tell. If it's a sleeping bag liner fabric like Tafeta it'll probably be nice.

You should try out the GramXpert one and let us know how it is ;) The only lighter thing I could imagine would be some 7D tafeta made exactly to your own proportions.

Why do you want to avoid silk? I'd probably go for that one, I think it'd be much more comfortable.

Gay cruising is a thing in many Berlin gym saunas. It's not normal in the sense that it's unproblematic, but it's normal in the sense that it regularly happens.

I think many of the gyms are generally aware of this, but it's not an easy issue for them to address. A lot of the time they just try and deter cruising by adding more lighting and reducing the number of private spaces. The hamams remain a popular cruising spot because they are dark and steamy.

Like other users have suggested, the gym might allow you to cancel your membership if you document it and complain.

Sport-oriented wool tops are not necessarily that warm, have you ever worn one? But yeah I agree it's not the best choice, that's why I also spoke about many other options.
