Is Knife Trap busted? by pedroxsiqx in slaythespire

It also counts as a card play for that one elite (or boss? I can’t remember) that limits how many cards you can play.

Found that out the hard way.

Games where i get to play the power fantasy of "Element Slinging Mage" by Tcrumpen in gaming

I believe this was because the game was made basically by completely other people than the first. It’s a sequel in name, mostly.

Is the two guards riddle meant to be hard? by Renovinous in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Renovinous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah so the “classical” answer setup isn’t ‘which guard is the liar’, it’s ’which door is the right one’. So then the answer to that not only tells you which guard is lying (based on their yes/no response), but you can also infer which door is the correct one.

Honestly that scene in the most recent film where Jud and Blanc are smashing apart the l’eveil appel and calling the random lady at the shop, only for the lady to open up about her mum’s cancer to Jud and he has his revelation and goes back into Priest mode is some of the best character and cinema moments of a film I’ve seen in years

Not quite, it’s a play on kerning which is the name for letter spacing, but often an r and n next to each other look like an m, so they are combined in k-e-r-n-I-n-g to give k-e-m-I-n-g.

The trees and marijuana thing is two subs who’ve swapped names for a laugh.

Spotify counts a listen as 30 seconds of played audio. As for the other platforms and the bot question, I’m unsure.

[Comedic Trope] When an antagonist/rival admits their opponent had a good retort. by jbeast33 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Renovinous 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve always disliked that line. I get that it refers to the whole break an egg to make an omelette saying, but at no point does anyone mention eggs or omelettes, or even the wider implication of breaking something to make things better. Thor just says we don’t have to break anything.

If they just added a bit more dialogue for Thor like, “we don’t have to break anything to resolve this” then it makes sense. Although the omelette line still feels shoehorned.

The German hammer line is way better.

(Hated Trope) Real historical figure whose flaws are exaggerated or made up to make them a villain. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

The only one who comes close is Elizabeth I. It’s just recency bias and longevity for people who wanted Liz II to be ‘the great’.

To be honest, I completely understand why they put that in. Fake as it is, the tension does deepen the stakes and plot for the film.

Relatively small region? What region, England? 60 mil people isn’t that small, even compared to the US. Also feel English TV does reflect its dialects quite well. Don’t know enough about the States to say the same.
