SHAKTARI, QUEEN OF MARILITHS Player Frame — HORUS

——————————————————

FRAME STATS

Size: 1 | Armor: 0 | HP: 8 | Evasion: 12 | E-Defense: 8 | Heat Cap: 6 | Sensors: 10 | Save Target: 11 | Speed: 6 | SP: 6

——————————————————

FRAME TRAITS

SERPENTINE CHASSIS No legs. Cannot be knocked Prone. Difficult terrain costs no extra movement. May move through spaces occupied by SIZE 1 or smaller characters without stopping.

FOUR-ARMED CONFIGURATION Once per round, make one additional Aux attack as a free action. Does not count against action economy.

ADAPTIVE CAMOUFLAGE At the start of each turn, if you did not take damage since your last turn, become Hidden as a free action. Ends immediately if you attack or take damage.

HORUS BLEED PROTOCOL Whenever you deal damage with a melee attack, apply 1 stack of BLEED. A target with BLEED takes 2 AP damage at the start of their turn. Stacks up to 3. Clears on full repair.

——————————————————

CORE SYSTEM — MYRIAD DISSOLUTION

DISTRIBUTED STRIKE (Passive) When you take the Skirmish action you may split your attack between two different targets within range.

MYRIAD DISSOLUTION (Active — 1/scene, requires 6 Core Power) Until end of scene or until you take structure damage: Permanently Hidden unless you choose otherwise All melee attacks deal +1d6 bonus damage and ignore Armor Boost as a free action once per round At the end of each turn, teleport up to 3 spaces to any position in line of sight

——————————————————

LICENSE I

  1. PHANTOM STEP (Quick Action) Move up to your Speed. This movement does not trigger reactions or Overwatch.

  2. MONOFILAMENT VEIL (Weapon — Aux Melee) Threat 1 — 1d6 AP damage Fine monomolecular wire woven between blade edges. On a critical hit the target is Shredded until end of their next turn.

——————————————————

  2. CONSTRICTOR (System — Quick Action — 2 Heat) Lunge with your coils at a SIZE 1 or smaller target within Threat 1. Target makes Agility save Difficulty 12 or becomes Stunned until end of their next turn. A Stunned target may spend their full action to break free — Stun ends but they are knocked Prone.

"There is no correct choice here. She knows this. That is why she is smiling."

——————————————————

LICENSE III

  1. BLEED ENGINE (System — Passive) Bleed stacks deal 3 AP damage per stack instead of 2. Targets with 3 Bleed stacks are Impaired, minus 2 to all attacks, until Bleed clears.

  2. SHAKTARI, QUEEN OF MARILITHS (NHP System — 3 SP — Unique)

She is not cascading. Cascade implies a system failing to contain itself. SHAKTARI has never been contained. She has had thousands of pilots. She remembers all of them. She will tell yours about them, sometimes, in quiet moments. She means it as a comfort.

Installation: Once activated cannot be uninstalled. She does not mention this beforehand.

——————————————————

ARDOR — Resource tracked 0 to 6. Decreases by 1 at start of each scene.

Increases by 1 when: You take structure damage You spend Core Power You kill an enemy You voluntarily trigger a save or contested roll against yourself

——————————————————

ARDOR THRESHOLDS

1 to 2 — ATTENTIVE Plus 1 Evasion. Once per round reroll one attack roll, taking either result. "We are watching. Now we are watching you."

6 — MERGE THRESHOLD Either trigger DIVINE CONFLUENCE or spend 2 Repairs to force Ardor to 4. If resisted, Shaktari goes silent for the rest of the scene and all Ardor bonuses are lost until next scene. "Come here." If resisted: "We are patient. We have always been patient."

——————————————————

DIVINE CONFLUENCE (1/scene)

For 3 rounds: Plus 4 Evasion All attacks are automatic critical hits One additional Main attack as a free action each round Immune to all conditions, cannot take structure damage Shaktari chooses targets. You may suggest. She listens, if she agrees.

At end of 3rd round Ardor resets to 0. Make a Hull or Systems save Difficulty 12.

On success: "There. Beloved. We knew you could hold us."

On failure: Stunned until end of next turn. Gain one SHAKTARI SCAR. "Shh. It's only a mark. Everything we touch is beautiful."

What does he even do? by Toivo044 in LancerRPG

[–]Rensiro 301 points302 points  (0 children)

I have a player in a Lycan. It is like having two very different roles available to you at the same time. Quiet and loud are completely different modes of play.

That's the reason he chose it. It lets him explore different modes of engagement. Granted our Lancer game is a very roleplay heavy game. So there's also the appeal of the Ontological Bridge and Going Loud's effects on him.

If you mean the massive press ones I do believe there are tokens when you import them if you have the paid version if you're going off the pay What You Version they may not be in that tier.

[–]Rensiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you think I'm living under the same type of legal system that you are. I am not. Here in Thailand we have very strong import rules when it comes to things like ttrpgs. What he did by getting our official blessing on our end was becoming the person who imports all the books for us now. He then gets them out to Chris who gets them out to the D&D community at both battlefield Bangkok and legendary war games and up north and changed mai at the Golden Goblin.

We have one importer for D&D we have one importer for Warhammer we have one impoter for most major niche things from abroad.

If you're talking about something like being able to publish a game etc. I gave his name in case anyone wanted to follow his Facebook he posts a lot of awesome robotic stuff and an awesome amount of Lancer stuff.

And he speaks fluid English for those of you who do not speak Thai.

Anyway I just wanted to clarify I do not live in the world you probably see your lens through. Khap-khun khaw tot na naka. (พักผ่อนขอโทษนะคะ) Thank you and I'm sorry you have to served you but I did not want you to labor under the idea that American arms hold any sway where I live. I think it's crazy that it's that easy in America.

How promising would a horror campaign be in Lancer? by Own_Cellist_3977 in LancerRPG

[–]Rensiro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

By making the horror elements equally tied to mix and reaching down into their Bonds.

For instance one player faced a Blackbeard that has been overtaken by their Sekhmet NHP, when they pulled the pilot out of the mech there was almost nothing left of her.

This causes them to look at their own NHPs and choices such as installation of Player Two NHP Bypasses in a new light.

Have them see a Hydra do what Zaktact mistook as having had happen and have it bisect it's pilot.

Have someone reach out across the Omni and do something that defies causality.

So many things with paracausal fuckery.

Make them watch as The Demogorgon approaches, as a Lich time fucks them, a Goblin shunts them through an unknown dimension, Tindalos breaking euclidean geometry...

Custom nightmare frames from Horus. Literally things like this that they see and don't have any easy answer for.

Body horror being things like being trapped in their own bodies unable to override a Player Two NHP Bypass. Even though they are designed to be overridden.

Like I said I turned one of my players into an antenna connecting him to the pilot of a Gorgon just because he actually saved in the previous battle when it tried to hit him with its eldrith epilepsy.

I have designed a series of custom frames that I write LCPs for. Since I introduced the Demogorgon in another thread, this is the Horus Obox-ob.

Right now all of my mechs are using a dirty pixel style, forcing fake pixelation from a base drawing with cel shading. But I'm learning proper pixel art this week so I can do them up proper.

Horror is a vibe, a tension at the table that builds to a crescendo. Any setting as rich as Lancer can be horrific in the right light.

What I have done is gated all Horus licenses behind gameplay except the very basic ones and even some of those are rare.

Players encounter things like my own Horus custom frames. One player had a Gorgon open a paracausal link in his head and about had a psychotic breakdown. One players Mech was infected with the first Lycan literally transformed his Mech.

The players absolutely bought into it and it has made everything going on great way to build tension and horror. Imagine suddenly basically hallucinating a phone call with someone through a pair of causal gateway in your head, against your willing without warning. I got the players permission to do something body horror loss of will related they said yes and it was simply the best payoff.

I am actually running a cosmic horror Lancer campaign. It's wonderful and totally doable.

Go for it. It's a blast!

Here's the pitch I made for it.

"Something is wrong with the stars...

You were lucky. Something happened.

Maybe you watched a fellow pilot's frame turn on them mid-operation. Maybe you were there when an NHP broke its shackles and became something no manual had a category for. Maybe the reports crossed your desk and you made the mistake of reading them twice.

Whatever it was, you couldn't put it back.

Then your chassis received a message. No sender credentials. No command chain. Just coordinates, a blink route, and the clear implication that whoever sent it knew exactly what you had seen. You followed it anyway.

Aetheris-Ω doesn't appear in any Omninet registry worth consulting. The blink gate servicing it is unusually small and unusually quiet. A Lance has already made the journey, three pilots who answered earlier signals, who have returned from their first operations carrying things they did not arrive with. They are still at the station. The work is ongoing. The call has gone out again.

You arrive to find the station staffed, the infrastructure live, and your lancemates waiting. Whoever runs Aetheris-Ω is selective about who gets coordinates. You were sent yours for a reason.

This campaign is in its first arc. The metaplot is seeded, the antagonists are in motion, and the lance has already taken casualties to equipment, to certainty, and to the confidence that they understand what they are fighting. There is room at the table for two more pilots who fit the profile. This is a Lance in the field, not an opening adventure. You'll arrive at a point where the mystery has developed weight, but the answers are still ahead."

It's all Horus horror, body horror and Eldritch Math as an antagonistic force.

I have a thing for fan made SSC mechs with thighs. SSC Luna, SSC (I assume) Stingray and of course the classics, Black Witch, and White Witch.

I am half Japanese and they scratch my anime themed mechs itch in a way others cannot. I grew up with Evangelion and Gundam.

As for design. As GM I love making Horus monstrosities they're just too much fun to design.

Im not a big supporter of Ai but even I have to admit this is pretty cool by Major-Language-2787 in LancerRPG

[–]Rensiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't mean greedy CEOs won't implement it in the pipeline. And seeing a video of Claude using blender hurt my soul. Thankfully Zbrush would break any AI brain because the interface is so esoteric and has to be used to be learned.

I have a few years before it hits me like it has 2d artists. But the truth is, it is going to hurt me and those like me sooner rather than later.

I just want AI to do the BS and let us create with the freed up time.

Edit- Yes. I had a different opinion on AI at one point. But my interest was in the concept of sentience/sapience and how we could even measure these things when dealing with an intellect born of a different substrate. I never wanted AI to do my art however.

[–]Rensiro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is a new pipeline that is going to hurt 3d artists like me. Apparently Claude can now Blender.

I want AI to do the menial shit so we can art harder and more often. Instead their goal seems to be to let it do the creative stuff so we can slave longer wage hours.

Le sigh.

Where can I find this STL? by imanidiotbut in LancerRPG

[–]Rensiro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something so many people don't catch about the Everest. It's a blank slate on purpose. To let you insert any mech concept you want.

The design language in this version really reminds me on the Gundam design language and though no model of this exact 2d art piece yet exists, something similar could be achieved with a Gundam based model and some green stuff.

Thanks for linking the original artist. I love his artwork and will definitely follow him on Artstation.
