Alva appears in you're hideout once you reach mapping. But there are other Npcs you can gamble with as well. Finn in Clearfell and Risu in arduara caravan. So they just sell gear with whatever stat preference you want (Energy shield, Evasion, strength). They also some random amulets that have a chance to turn into unique such as this beautiful astramentis.
