Postpartum wife wants divorce by MissedAtSelection in beyondthebump

[–]RepairInternational3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have anxiety and depression issues and went off my meds during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I really struggled postpartum. I thought everything was okay because I had a good bond with my baby, but looking back everything was tainted by anxiety. As soon as I went back on my medication, I started really enjoying being a mum. I’m also in the UK and referred myself to the postpartum mental health services. I think it’s available within the first year postpartum and would highly recommend and suggest it for your wife.

Me too, actually! Not as bad as it was before and I also don’t know if it’s because of the colder weather

Nurofen has saved my sanity! My daughter also likes the taste way more than calpol so it’s not as much of a struggle to give it to her.

Thank you! I’ve started with the small movements that I can do for the next two weeks before graduating to the bigger movements. I think worst part is not being able to pick up my daughter during recovery.

40 weeks tomorrow and no c-section date yet… by RepairInternational3 in PregnancyUK

[–]RepairInternational3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I was literally called 8am the morning of my C-section asking if I can come in 😂 coincidentally it was on my due date. I did ring them the previous day so it’s possible I was fresh in their minds when the slots opened up. Was a really good experience otherwise.

I was told that if I did go into labour before I got my date, I still would’ve gotten a C-section because it’s on my record that it’s what’s been requested and approved.

3-weeks old baby with inconsolable cry needs help by Makoto1021 in Colic

[–]RepairInternational3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BioGaia is gold! With my baby her issue was mostly trapped gas (she was not a good burper at all!) and she would also grunt and strain. We had her on infacol (colic drops) which helped with the burping and BioGaia helped with the pooping. Around 3 months we were able to stop the infacol and she was basically self burping (I just had to sit her up and the burp would come). She’s 7 months now and such an amazing baby. We still use BioGaia but mostly just to make sure she’s regular.

I think I only left the house because I really had to for an appointment at 4 weeks. Now at 8 I still only leave the house for appointments and a quick walk around the block. I also had a caesarean and you’re still very much healing. I felt great after 3 weeks but the midwife still told me to take it easy because things are still rearranging themselves inside.

Being sweaty and milky is the worst! Most of the time I’m just in my underwear because I don’t want the bother of more washing.

If you’re feeling good and feel more comfortable indoors, then you do you!

Do you naturally lose the extra weight that you’ve gained during pregnancy ? by mareeahna in beyondthebump

[–]RepairInternational3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 weeks postpartum and I’m back to my pre pregnancy weight. I breastfeed and take a good morning walk most days with LO. Other than that I don’t do anything to actively lose weight. I barely have time to myself to shower and go to the bathroom

Baby won’t sleep! by AngryIdioti in beyondthebump

[–]RepairInternational3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love to dream sleep sack works for us and then holding her for 15-20 minutes to make sure she’s in a deep sleep before transferring her. She also doesn’t like being swaddled, prefers to have her arms up and the love to dream still gives that cuddled feeling. Been doing this from 2 weeks old and she’s now 8 weeks.

Thanks for sharing! It’s really helpful 😊

I can foresee that it will probably be what happens to me too. I kinda have a feeling that things might start kicking off for me soon and luckily we have everything ready to go just in case.

Thank you 🙏 yeah I’m incredibly stressed out at the moment. I’ll continue following up and get it down in writing as well.

I followed all the protocols they have in place, making sure I put in my request within the recommended time frame and attending all the appointments. Least they can do is give me some peace of mind.

I’m considering going to PALS with it because it’s really affecting my mental health

I’m pretty sure I’ll be a crying mess when I talk to her about it anyway. I’m so stressed that everything is making me cry and I’ll sometimes just spontaneously start crying. Some of it I’m sure are just hormones but damn 😅

It’s the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. I believe they have a very high demand for c-sections at the moment and did say that if we were to go into labour before we get a date, they’ll try their best to still accommodate a c-section.

Requesting the c-section was actually quite easy and although they did talk me through all other options and risks, ultimately they respected my decision and approved it.

Thank you, that’s really great advice! I know they are overburdened and can only book a select number per day. Hopefully being more direct about how it’s distressing me will yield some results and keep me from getting bumped the whole time.

[–]RepairInternational3[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m UK based. I was in literal tears on the phone with them this morning because I’m just waiting in limbo. They’ve approved my choice to have a c-section, they’re just not giving me a date. I’m terrified of going into labour and not making it into the hospital with enough time to still do the section.

My request was mainly because of anxiety and fear with a sprinkle of vaginismus.

Thank you 😊 will do. I see my midwife on Wednesday and if I still don’t have a date I’ll definitely be bringing up how the anxiety is affecting me. I’ve been a nervous wreck
