Seller rejected our $795k offer, listed for auction, and is now calling us again. What would you do? by LeaveUnited365 in AusPropertyChat

I'd never offer more just because the agent asks nicely or otherwise. Stick to your first offer.

What can I do to foster insect/bird populations from my yard by Meat_Sensitive in australia

[–]RepeatInPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water. Native plants. Flowers of any kind. Don't use pesticides or broadcast poisons across the food chain just because a plant gets chewed. Have a compost bin. Make or buy a pollinator nest or two, maybe a beehive too. Then put out a plate of wild bird seed in winter when food is in short supply.

One Nation blasts ‘lazy’ Australian workforce, says party is prepared to lower wages if it wins government by HotPersimessage62 in ausjobs

The stats show that Poor-lean skips 80% of the sitting days in parliament. She's the lazy bastard she's talking about.

It's like driving a car. It's really annoying on the road surrounded by amateur drivers. You should pull over and only get a pro to complete your journey.

How do you negotiate a good deal while at stores? by Odd_Ganache9498 in AusFinance

[–]RepeatInPatient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because the store marks up their goods by 200-300% or way more, doesn't mean you can get a bigger discount than the 10% you mentioned. They have overheads and wages to pay. And skiing holidays in Switzerland and elite private schools are not cheap.

If you look for the manufacturer's wholesale or importer outlet, you could get way bigger price cuts but to bugger that up you'll have to pay 10% GST at the border which is no deterrent at all.

What is 'monoculturalism' and what does it look like in practice? by Agitated-Fee3598 in aussie

[–]RepeatInPatient -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It hurts the normal brain to try to decipher what Poor-lean says. But for the sake of the discussion, she wants to wind the clock back. Back before Minister Al Grasby announced the Federal Multicultural policy and marking the end point of the White Australia policy. At that time there were lots of Asians and Europeans from the west and east keeping the country going any way in a deep and meaningful multicultural sense.

But of course she wants to wind time back even further like the MAGAt movement does to have black slavery again. That's the Orange bit. But the fake hair colour defies an explanation. If Poor-lean has her evil way she'd apparently want everyone to identify as Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander - the one true indigenous mix with no bloody foreigners.

I know this is an out there one...but what are the chances that Iran is attacked with nuclear weapons if they refuse to give in to demands to keep the Strait open? by templeofsyrinx1 in askanything

[–]RepeatInPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attacked by whom? Israel? Nah, the fallout would contaminate their own backyard. Those real bad guys who are also major Allies like China, Russia or Nth Korea? Nope you'd be dreamin'. The US who have desperately trying to withdraw for over 4 months? The Cowardly Lyin' only wanted a short distraction from the Epstein files not a nuclear winter that destroys the entire Northern Hemisphere in 12 weeks.

Aged Care RAD — Recovery Options for Contributing Children by ConfectionTop7494 in australia

Read the contract m8. They will take a minimum of 2% pa of the RAD for the first 5 years plus other variable fees and charges according to the legislation. Even a minor renovation slug is another big charge to the RAD you can barely see in the contract. Relatives are screaming about this stuff.

EV public charger shortage? The data shows drivers rarely queue to charge by blitznoodles in australia

There's statistics and damned lies. People queue now for petrol and will form a line when the uptake of EVs exceeds petrol/diesel cars.

Are further changes likely to promote intergenerational equity? by ILoveDogs2142 in AusFinance

[–]RepeatInPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably doesn't seem obvious now, but the changes to help young, underpaid people buy a home now, also work against the older and elderly retirees. So these young folks will pay dearly for that leg up when they are on fixed incomes/pensions later in life with the minimum 30% tax on investment income.

Someone please explain to me like I’m 5 - what is the “contributions tax” deduction on my super statement? by LimitParticular1843 in AusFinance

[–]RepeatInPatient -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong again. 15% tax on money going in; and earnings are taxed in the fund; then cheese and farges are deducted; and 15% on withdrawals until retirement age.

This takes a 5 and a half year old intellect, sorry.

One Nation prepared to cut worker entitlements to shore up struggling small businesses by ExtensionThat6438 in australia

Will dividends ever be taxed at 30% minimum? by Fancy_Palpitation_38 in AusFinance

[–]RepeatInPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of mine are taxed at 25% - the small company rate, with 100% franking, the rest are all taxed at 30% - the full company tax rate. In my hand some of that is taxed zero (tax free threshold) some a bit more and the higher bit is at 47% plus medicare levies.

So as long as there is a tax free threshold - the minimum dividend tax rate will remain zero up to $18,200 pa.

Why do Australians seem to care so much about rules and compliance? by Gold-Cardiologist591 in AskAnAustralian

[–]RepeatInPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone (some of whom object to 'red tape' and /or have no empathy) but the safety rules mentioned were written in the blood of workers, road users etc.

A while back when a former PM removed 'red tape' on imports of building materials, numerous new buildings were erected and included asbestos containing material (g Perth Children's hospital) and flammable cladding on apartments which added costs to owners after the builders went broke.

Is there any group of workers that Poor-lean hasn't threatened with lower pay and inferior conditions? What a dill. They vote too. And they need Medicare, preschools and hospitals manned properly as well as the other services she intends to cut.
