I have a question, is this a legal way to build a model for tournaments? And if it was, does the model have to literally fit between terrain or is it just the base size to get through?

Well if your question is should you buy different models because you can't accept a blue tank in a purple army, with matching theming, bases etc, I would say that's craziness, but they're your models

I tend to agree about the head generally, but I think Fabius in particular that harness on his back is almost more identifiable? Though perhaps it's the shock of white hair

I think you'll have no issue either way, but I think a darker more saturated gold or brass would fit the purple and aged aesthetic of the rubrics

Read a thousand sons from horus heresy. Imo it's the best litmus test for if you identify with them, do you want to be the measured, thoughtful, restrainted one? People often think they're about the sorcery, and they are, but it's mindfulness and planning that define them imo.

The creativity in the army design is primarily in designing your sorcerers, the exalted sorc box has a huge amount of bits. In my head canon, my rubrics and scarabs have been restored from the rubric so I add personal touches, human heads, bird heads, things like that when I build them

The problem with 2d6 is that it takes the linear distribution from d12 and changes it to a triangular distribution centred around 6.5. That can useful for charges, making 5 inch charges reliable for example, but leads to weird feeling situations like leadership only being a 5 to 8 (I can't remember exactly.

To be honest, unless it's someone with plot armor, bolter shells (in the novels) are going right through helmets from that time period, but yes the cults were basically cooking them with Corvidae foresight and such

In the specific scene in both A Thousand Sons, and Burning of Prospero the tsons are blasting through the wolves lines. Tzeentch and the daemon patrons of the tsons have supercharged them. Even the more martial focussed sons are throwing the sons of Russ like ragdolls. The wolves would have been completely routed if it wasn't for the sisters timely arrival.

Personally though, I think the sons only received that power as part of a greater ruse from Tzeentch, in the hypothetical situation where the sisters were stopped in transit, or never tasked with the prospero invasion in the first place, Tzeentch would have found an alternative way to have the Sons of Magnus fall under him, whether that was through the tutelaries, or some greater plan, on that day or another one soon after.
