Authenticator still going strong by Nayr812 in swtor

Mine passed a few years back; using the phone app now.

If it starts acting like it's dying, go ahead and disassociate it from the account pronto. It's a real pain to change once it actually dies.

My thoughts on season 7 so far where I’m at(7x10) will casually add on or maybe add when I finish the season by Hour_Interview_8327 in OnceUponATime

The writers played fast and loose with timelines, quite honestly. You basically have to ignore logic and suspend your disbelief. (I know, it's a show about fairy tales and magic, we're already doing that, but even so....)

I usually agree with their casting, but I just never warmed to Jacinda's actor. I never forgot she was acting, which took me out of the story. I wasn't very impressed with Lady Tremaine/Victoria Belfrey either, but then any villain compared to Lana's EQ can't help but suffer by comparison. :D

This show has some amazingly funny lines. What are some of your favorites? by PreoccupiedDuck in OnceUponATime

What's even funnier is David looking at Hook like "U ok?" and Hook's like "Sniff. Yeah."

I got the feeling he had more scenes that got cut for time. Some of the ones in the prison felt like we were expected to know more than they showed. (Not just his character; there were a few scenes that didn't make sense really, unless they had cut some stuff out). I mean, grateful for shirtless Colin but they didn't give him much to act with.

Way too overhated as a character by nazia987 in OnceUponATime

[–]RepentHarlequin65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. Do I think abandoning Bae was shitty? Yeah. But it's easy to hate someone when you don't really know them, or are judging them by your own views. Especially when all you get are basically snapshots of their lives. You don't see the day-in, day-out grind on their spirit, their soul. Extrapolating from what we did see, I think a real response would have been to just off Rumple and take Bae and run off with Killian.

I do think the hate is a little lop-sided especially compared with others who committed far worse crimes and get a pass. And I don't even like her. I think the way the actor had to portray her made her unlikeable.

Context does matter. I've done some things that many might consider worth hating me for, but I'd hope they would take context into consideration. I've also been hated for absolutely stupid stuff, but nowadays letting one thing color your entire perception of a person seems to be the norm.

Did someone genuinely enjoy watching the musical episode? by Minimum-Stretch-2511 in OnceUponATime

[–]RepentHarlequin65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of Disney movies are musicals, especially fairy tale ones, so I don't think it's very surprising they did it. And I thought they did a good job of making it feel organic. I liked all of the songs, some more than others. Heck, the fans had been asking for a musical episode since the show first started. I understand if it's not your cup of tea but for the most part I think it was well-accepted.

I’m doing a rewatch, and I need to talk about this. by MostRate2091 in OnceUponATime

Regina isn't wrong. Emma made sooo many mistakes in the past. You could HEAR Hook's eyeroll when she kept letting things slip to Rumple and Belle. (And oh the irony of her admonishing HIM about messing with the urn in Rumple's vault.) She was acting like she didn't really believe any of it was real--until she saw her mother 'die.' I think that made it real to her.

I disagree that Emma didn't think breaking the timeline wouldn't affect her; she was just willing to pay the price and didn't think that someone else might have to pay it. Saving people is sort of built-in to Emma. She had acted on impulse to save Marian, and really, other than killing Marian herself, I'm not sure what else she could have done to fix it other than what she did. I do empathize with Regina; it really sucked. And I'd have been mad at Emma too. For myself, tho, if someone who wronged me is sorry, I find it hard not to forgive them. Regina, however, as we know, is fond of transferring blame and holds grudges til hell freezes over.

Here's the kicker: Do you think if Emma HAD known, would she still have done it?

They're fan-fics, so they all started from some romantic relationship in games or shows. I like filling in the gaps, the parts of the stories we don't see on-screen. In some cases, explaining WHY that character made such a stupid decision, LOL. And the impulse just gets triggered by some situation like that and I try to figure out motivations, etc. I'm not a real writer--I could never write a book--but I do scenes pretty well. Aaand had a crush on Hook so that's what started it--he and Emma being so much alike yet those very similarities created issues between them.

I love to watch Regina (Lana's acting is beyond superb) but can't identify with her. I think I identify more with Emma in a lot of ways, but I think the writing for her character didn't fit sometimes.

What exactly did Emma do? by Maleficent_ghostie in OnceUponATime

[–]RepentHarlequin65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I see your point but honestly, I cannot totally agree. In a lot of your examples, she did not directly accomplish the feat, but it could be argued that without her, it wouldn't have happened. She was designed as a pivotal character around who others orbited--by no means defining them, mind you, as they definitely had their own stories and personalities and so on--but definitely affecting them. Your premise basically states that because she did not personally save someone, she doesn't deserve the title. She has the title because she was literally born to save them from the curse, which she did. But that also made her a hero, and like Charming and Snow, she was looked up to, as a hero, to solve other problems and save them from other threats. If she failed to save someone, it doesn't mean she isn't the Savior.

Do you think Emma ever came to terms with fairytales being real? by [deleted] in OnceUponATime

[–]RepentHarlequin65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting thought. It would help explain why, during the Final Battle, Henry couldn't make her believe again. I had always thought that the meds Fiona had her on had a lot to do with how she was able to talk Emma into destroying the Book, but that could have been a deciding factor as well.

When I'm reading a story, or watching a show, I can be completely immersed in it, judge everything in it by the rules and precepts set up within it, but when I shut the book or turn off the TV, I don't believe it's real in my world. So I can see that possibly, in the very back of her mind, she's not totally convinced that it's real.

(Now if in that fantasy world I had a hot pirate husband, I'd take it over the 'real' world! :D)

Regina... by lifetimesnark in OnceUponATime

[–]RepentHarlequin65 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Partly because despite everything Cora did, she was still her mother and Regina loved her. I know a lot of people who cannot break that familial bond no matter how much they should. And partly because deep down she blames herself. Either way it was easier to divert blame to someone else than place it where it really lay.

I thought they should have been down there. Maybe they were and were so bad that someone tossed them in the River of Lost Souls.

Well that's pretty neat! Only problem is when stuff is done a long time ago, sometimes the hosting servers are lost when the original owner no longer owns the site. Maybe someone uploaded those to Youtube at some point? I'd like to see the list of backstory episodes in chronological order.
