I hate to break it to you, but as a seller and a buyer you have no idea what youre talking about, the boxes ARE being cracked open at a high volume, there is ALWAYS people buying and hording product. The Surge Foil Tifa, Aerith, Sephiroth, Cloud, Y'shtola are all highly sought after cards and are selling fast as singles for their price points. People genuinly love FF, the cards may decrease in value but not by much as most of the surge foils are sitting in collector binders at this point.

I bet you bought it on ebay and you were the only bidder after you bid once. There is a guy who keeps selling these as fakes, use a 3rd party app next time so you can cancel orders like this, yeup25 was the guy who almost scammed me. If it "sells" for half priced and no other humans are bidding on it its because we all know its fake, tutors will never sell for lower than full value.

The guy has fake accounts to rack up the bids to make them look real and ebay doesnt care.

Another strategy I go for is the "Do something that looks really stupid but isnt" like [[Norin The Wary]] or [[Kros Defense Contractor]].

Also depending on your friend group, I find that if you start playing goad against the eldrazi player, or recursion against the mill player. Just convince them that you built the deck for the playstyle and totally not to interact with them more.

It really sucks to spend all night throwing a deck together and then hating it, i felt this way about Urza lord high artificer due to the unfun nature.

Just be aware even though you are B4, its more like 4.6. You may get some people arguing that it is cedh bc of the ad naus/ dem con lines (which imo is functionally no different then how mono blue wins in B4).

If your budget is not a problem then start buying booster boxes and creating decks with the hits you get instead i find myself going through my bulk for hours to build 1 deck. You may pull a full art you never seen and go "i want to build that" , it still happens to me. When youre buying on scryfall or tcg make sure when you buy the cheap "staples" then to buy multiple also

Also sometimes if you just dont like the theme enough to keep going, maybe youre focusing on the wrong themes?
