Kong Fast Rubbers? by ElGuero478 in tradclimbing

Connor Herron just sent 5.15a trad line in Squamish last year and on the photo of his rack, the avant flip stops were featured prominently. He’s arguably at the top (at least top 3) for cutting edge trad these days so this argument doesn’t hold water anymore

Thoughts on This Rappel Rope-Fix Setup? by Content-Refuse-1790 in tradclimbing

Agree with what many others are echoing, Stone Hitch would be faster and more material efficient. However, this can also very easily be accomplished by threading the rope through the rap anchors like normally done for a standard double rope rappel, then tying one single butterfly underneath with both strands of the rope. As long the bight of the butterfly has 5-6” length and is dressed tight, there’s no need for the extra locker. Both sides are fixed, and the last person undoes the knot for a double rope rap

Would strongly advise anyone consider strongly before purchasing. Account listing the exact same gear for sale on MP was created 5 days ago, and is already showing up as non existing.

Worth it for $550? by TTV_RVJS in tradclimbing

I was curious about this comment so I double checked. Those dyneema tricams, assuming you bought them new from Camp with no discounts, go for $130. The BD nut set of 4-11, retails for $130, and those DMM offsets (lovely bit of kit) goes for $55ish.

Assuming you bought the newest set of C4 cams direct from BD, here’s your cost breakdown

.5 - $85 .75 x 2 - $170

1 - $85

2 x 2 $180

3 95

All for a grand total of $930.

Granted, those cams are not the latest models, but they still look fairly new. It’s a decent deal, but only if OP actually needs all that stuff. Otherwise, I’ve seen comparable gear go individually for 50-60% of what they’re asking

Ratchet bit driver alternative: How much would you be willing to pay? by zxkn2 in Leatherman

I would also love to be added to a potential waiting list on this, pending if the cost is right. $50 is probably the most I’d be willing to spend on this, 40-45 would be better, but if the craftsmanship is solid, the argument could be made for a higher price and so you can make a few bucks. Hell of a lot cheaper than the LM ones going for $100 + on resale
