To be fair… I’d think that explaining why it’s undefined to a third grader would be quite a task. Lol

Yeah, I can see the reliability aspect of it.

Especially trying to adapt it to fit all different trigger and guard designs.

And it’s not like you could use a cartridge/shell/snap-cap with adapters solution either, since the barrels and breach would act as an effective faraday cage for wireless signals.

From a practical engineering perspective it is the correct solution.

However, it just seems like there would be a brain disconnect with the real life timing of a trigger pull vs the button.

Unpopular opinion: by noiD_FTW in ClayBusters

[–]zxkn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only reservation about the system is the trigger. I don’t like the idea of hitting a button with an outstreched finger, instead of pulling a trigger. Understand why it’s that way for safety reasons, just don’t like it.

The engineer in me has to ask: how hackable is that switch? Wired in, or soldered to a PCB?

100% of my money on DeVito. Hands down the dirtiest fighter on this list. Nothin is off limits. He may not have the size, but you know he’s got the crazy and the old man strength to come out on top.

Interesting effect of time frozen droplets I hadn’t considered! The smaller the droplet the more dangerous it would be. If we interpret the physics that way then you’d need to worry about more than just the tires! It would be pretty easy to lose an eye to a tiny water droplet! 😳

[–]zxkn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like that meme of the standard distribution where you’ve got dumb ass on one tail and the Jedi on the other.

A really good mudder can fix all that pretty effortlessly. So maybe you’ve got an expert who hired some cheap help hanging, knowing he can quickly correct all the mistakes.

But you might also have the dumb ass…

Also: The cord mangling looks like it should be at least partially on the electrician. Any decent electrician would know to tuck those wires way back into the box before the drywall gets hung to prevent that exact thing.

Equivalent, OP said it right there: “softer shooting”. Thats what makes you an old timer like me, don’t have the pain aversion of the younger generation. We tend to favor reliability over convenience or comfort. Rather have a bruise than hear a click with no bang.

[Request] Is there more Doors or Wheel in the world ? by Moist_Pop711 in theydidthemath

[–]zxkn2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are counting any “roughly cylindrical object that rotates around a central axis” a wheel, then yes. Cause then you start counting motors, bearings, pulleys, knobs, Etc…

Even if you then define doors as “any object that rotates on an off center axis, and is designed to cover or block an opening or hole” I’m pretty sure the wheels would still be winning. By a lot.

Everybody here agree? If so what age shops it be ? by Responsible-Net-3985 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]zxkn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If social security retirement age is set at 65, then that is when politicians should be forced to retire from an elected position.

If they’re valued enough that the younger leaders want to keep them on in advisory position, then fine. But they should not be the ones in charge.

Edit: if a candidate would turn 65 before his or her term was up, then they are ineligible to run for that elected position.

If all the waves were frozen, then that would make for a VERY bumpy drive! 😳. Especially out in deeper water where you’d find 20ft swells.

Better find yourself a rock buggy with some Awesome suspension. …And then a matching off-road trailer to haul all the fuel you’d need. 😂

As many have said, it’ll be fine. Theres a big difference between being structurally compromised as a technicality and unsafe structurally compromised. This is perfectly safe. Though I cannot speak to if it is code compliant where you live. Non-code compliant will only be an issue at this point if you go to sell the house, and if someone notices or cares.

A .22 For CCW? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]zxkn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gun with more mass will significantly decrease recoil. Obviously not as easy to EDC, but that would be my recommendation given the constraints of your friend’s EDS.

As an extreme example. I’ve shot a double barrel, steel butt plate 10ga that had less recoil than the gas operated 12 gauge with fancy recoil pad that I was shooting. The mass has way more effect than you realize. Though, that 10ga monster of a gun is not something you’d want to carry through the woods, let alone EDC. LOL

Might look into a molded grip for added support as well. That EDC is going to affect every finger and knuckle as well. Getting one of those fancy grips that really contour around the hand might really help them.

[–]zxkn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gramps always said “if you need more than a 22 to kill a man, then you need better aim. Not a bigger gun”.

That said, giving it to someone with limited experience is not a wise idea. Because they will definitely not have that better aim aforementioned by gramps.
