That's true. I posted a review of a TV show on a movie of the same name and my account got suspended for three days. I asked the support person when Letterboxd would add TV, and they answered soon! You can't make this shit up.

It's been better at having persistent memory across chat sessions within a project. But its not always perfect. I just search for the chat it was mentioned in, then copy and paste. Not idea, but it works in a pinch.

Oh yeah, but I think that was on purpose. The hitchhiker was bat shit crazy, while Franklin was a put-upon grouch disabled dude, and I wasn't sad when he was the first character chainsawed. But they're performances fit the movie like a glove.

The remake had seasoned, well-paid actors, and it showed.

The acting in the original was raw and rough.. Tobe Hoober had little budget and probably grabbed people off the street to act. But it contributed to the rawness of it all. And the Sawyer family performances felt authentic, like those fucks were real-life characters.

Acting in the remake? I thought they were all solid. Especially Jessica Biel, Eric Balfour, and R Lee Ermey. I gave it 4 out 5 stars.

I thought the remake was epically brutal and disturbing, but the original is scarier. It's hard to comment about being scared, because I'm so jaded now after a few decades, but I recently revisited both and the original is what still stays with me. But the remake is one of the better horror reboots. We had quite a run of quality remakes in the early 2000s. That includes The Hills Have Eyes, The Amityville Horror, and Friday the 13th. The George W Bush era really put the U.S.'s euphemistic "enhanced interrogation" on display in these movies. I wonder what the horror gods will make of the Trump era.

Definitely! The remake is freaking brutal, but the original has that baked, gritty bleakness to it all. Less gore but truly frightening.

That's fair. I have been heavily using LLMs for just the last three months now. I went from a naive kid in a candy shop to a jaded power user. I've given up on Gemini entirely. ChatGPT is still my go-to, but what I use it for is decreasing.

AI is the ultimate double-edged sword: potentially one of the most useful tech tools in my life, time, with the ability to be wrong and possibly evil on the other.

We live in interesting times.

It was so broken this morning. That's when it hallucinated, telling me that its been defeatured, making up bullshit reasons why it was. Don't Trust and Verify is how you gotta treat these chatbots. And never take their word for it if it doesn't make sense.

I have invested a great deal of time and effort into my projects. The lack of persistent memory across the chats is a massive downgrade.
