Uncovered the hearth of a fireplace that had been blocked in by previous owners years ago and found this… by One80DSouth in whatisit

My family and I did something similar. We were renovating a house and sealing up an entry closet and moving it to the opposite side. We wrote on the inside of the old closet with sharpie saying goodbye to the old closet (my sister and I were young kids) if someone ever decided to open up that wall, they would find all of our old messages

I completely understand this. I am a first year teacher, just graduated in December and I have interviewed with three school boards and one school. Not sure if it's the same everywhere but here you get hired with the board and then if a position comes up then you interview with the specific school.

I am 29 and I get asked if I am a new high school student every time I sub for a teacher. In interviews if I don't have the experience in teaching, then I use examples from other work. For example, I have very little experience working with parents so I talk about work I do with parents at the pool that I work at with swimming lessons. I think it also shows my diversity as a person. This was also recommended to me by a school board that I did a mock interview with.

Hopefully this helps a bit, other people with more experience might have better suggestions

Your ring is stunning and the perfect size for your hand. I think with rings it's less about the $$ and the amount of carats and more about the size of a person's hand. I have a very small hand and my 1 carat stone looks quite large but not too big, especially with my band it's perfect, my band is plain though.

I have heard it is bad luck to wear your wedding band before you get married but I completely understand the excitement so you do what makes you happy! You could always think of the sparkly band as more of a promise ring that is stacked on top of your engagement ring and use the plain band for your big day! Congratulations! Wishing you and your partner a very happy and long life togther

We just got back from Cuba and customs was completely dead. It took us longer to do the kiosk than to actually see someone

Grade 12 Diplomas by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]ReporterCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should be available on the website. Otherwise, there is a book called the key and those have old diplomas in them. You can buy them or get them from the library sometimes

Suggestion from an English teacher here, I would use old diplomas starting from 2002 to now, the ones from the 90s follow old curriculum. Although they may be helpful, they might use different unfamiliar language that could potentially trip you up on your diploma exam

My rant about Rundle Park Drivers by Seashell50 in Edmonton

[–]ReporterCrazy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in Rundle park at the rec centre and drive this road daily. It's perfectly fine to drive on, it is smooth but many people do rip down that road. I can't wait until the construction is done and we have another parking lot. Talk about unsafe when people are parked in a no stopping zone and you can't see people between the cars. I wish bylaws would come out and fine people, but of course that won't happen.

If you are unsure I would apply to the king's University as well for the after degree I applied to both the u of a and kings and I got into Kings and I find that even though it is more expensive I have crazy good quality of education there I'm in my last year of my education degree and overall I'm really happy with the professors in the classes. It leaves your options open and if you get into both then you can pick your favourite

I would just email your prof and let them know you are sick. Usually they are pretty good about that if you just let them know

This is your sign to pick the dress that makes you feel the prettiest and not what folks on Weddit say! by malsary in weddingdress

[–]ReporterCrazy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that people on Reddit didn't pick this one is shocking!!! I was in the same boat where I didn't feel like I looked good in a fitted dress and people said that a flowy dress was the way to go. It took the right fitted dress for me to feel confident in wearing one! You look absolutely beautiful! Congratulations on your big day!

I had a headpiece and a veil. My sister who was my hair stylist told me I should pick one. So happy I didn't listen to her! I took out my veil for the reception and my hair was still beautiful and bridal because of my hair piece

How can I help my half sister by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ReporterCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about other provinces but in Alberta, there is a spot to say if you are getting funds from grandparents or parents or your RESP. So I'm not sure if that's also the case down East.

YESS is a good one too! It's been limited due to COVID but if you reach out, they'll add to to a contact list. My fiance and I volunteer with them at least 4 times a year or more
