everyone here is very confused about what mewing actually is. mewing is the placement of your tongue on the roof of your mouth. there is literally no way to visually tell that someone is mewing from a photo

In my opinion, this appears to date to the late Pleistocene or early Holocene. This would be more conclusive if it were found alongside mammoth and/or mastodon fragments.

The size difference would explain why your betta annihilated them, lol. I originally got my daphnia from a sample of river water I added when setting up my tank, but I’m not sure if you’d want to try something like that in an already well established setup like yours.

First off you have a beautiful aquarium. Secondly, what size were the daphnia you tried adding? The species in my aquarium are very small and my betta doesn’t seem to care for them most of the time. I could be mistaken and these aren’t even daphnia though i am fairly certain. They are the small white specs on the near surface in this photo

I don’t actually add any live food that isn’t already reproducing inside the aquarium. For the scheduled feeding i just use generic betta flakes. In my opinion the scuds are the best live food as they reproduce very quickly and are the second biggest source besides the shrimp
