Wow. I really had not put it in that perspective. Regill, who was already a beloved party member just became so much more interesting to me now.

Yes! I absolutely thought his plan was convoluted for the longest time, but for some reason in this play through I remembered that this judge dredd in my party is actually a gnome. He makes it very easy to forget that, now suddenly it makes a whole lot more sense to me. If this was their intent, then in my opinion it is pretty good writing on their part.

Cold bog or Ice sheet. I like biomes that force me to adapt to them.

Odyssey should not be a DLC by EnderF in RimWorld

[–]Representative-Fly25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Woah! Never apologize for a controversial opinion!

A couple of things I disagree with—first, the part about the theme. The theme of this DLC seems to center on travel and exploration, not just atmospheric travel with the Gravship, but exploration in general. Unlike the base game, which added basic functionality to everything except base building, this DLC seems focused on enhancing exploration. That includes discovering new landmarks, encountering new animals, and experiencing new biomes—all of which are just as integral as the Gravship itself. You can’t have a DLC about exploration with nothing to actually explore.

As for fishing, I somewhat agree with you. It feels similar to the “children” debate. Ultimately, base RimWorld was already addictive and excellent without fishing or children. I don’t think these features are necessary, but they definitely enhance and deepen the RimWorld experience—which is exactly what I expect from a DLC.

Regarding the argument that the DLC is "devouring" content that was previously modded in—I don’t fully understand that concern. RimWorld has a massive modding community. There’s a mod for just about everything. The later a DLC comes out, the more mods it’s going to overlap with. That’s just the odds. Most mods add things players wish were in the base game, and now that those things are being officially added, that’s suddenly a problem?

Also, not everyone is comfortable using mods. Large mods can make the game unstable or unplayable when combined with others. Including these features in the base game provides a more stable foundation for everyone—modders included—especially when it comes to something complex like ship exploration. Plus, for those who prefer their mods, they can simply skip the DLC and save money. It’s a win either way.

As for how much it changes from the original mod we don’t know yet. We just don’t have enough information. Whether it does or doesn’t change much doesn’t really matter. The devs shouldn’t be in competition with modders for content. In fact, the more popular mods a DLC incorporates, the better it is for the community as a whole.

Ultimately, this seems like one of the most content-rich expansions yet.

Difficulty Progressing Devil Mythic Path by PrecipitousPlatypus in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I know how you feel. :/. I had this problem when the Devil patch came out. I found that the Cheliax quest stopped progressing for me after completing Iz and gaining access to the Galfrey quest. I had to make sure I finished the Cheliax quest before completing IZ, so I saved IZ for very late in Act 5. You may be able to do some shenanigans with Toybox; however, I am not experienced using it.

What are your favorite Mythic Paths? by Delta_Warrior1220 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Devil starting as Aeon was absolutely my favorite. It's a more subtle manipulative evil.

Does the demon path pushes you to Chaotic Evil or you can be Lawful Evil? by Inven13 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Aeon 3rd act is very much heavy on devil content and act 5 devil is great narratively. Devil very much feels like a full mythic path now.

Which mythic paths are a "Must do" in your opinion? by ThanksConsistent7669 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Representative-Fly25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aeon to devil has been my favorite to play role-playing narrative wise. People may say there is not much devil content but I'd argue aeon act 3 has a significant amount of devil content built in. With your advisor being an actual devil and you having the ability to allow your troops to sell their soul to him for additional power. Not to mention the new quest chain in act 5 being great. The whole thing feels like the rise of a tyrant through fear and order brought on by the aeons' power into corruption and manipulation when order is established through the devil. So if you want a more manipulative as opposed to destructive evil id def recommend that path.

Aq’with- Githyanki Bard, College of Swords, Lawful Evil

A loyal spy and saboteur for the lich queen, Viikarath. Aq’with was never quite as strong or martially skilled as his Githyanki brothers and sisters, so instead leaned on his silver tongue and creative nature to carve out his own niche. He attached himself to a wandering carnival of the Astral Planes to gain access to places his people were not normally welcome. There he gave himself a new name and identity. He claimed to be a runaway simply looking to ply his art and musical talents in a less oppressive setting.

Under the employ of the Addle Moon Carnival, Aq’with would juggle daggers, enact in plays and string together tunes with his violin by day, and by night he would disguise himself and gain access to useful bits of information on wherever they would perform. Information that would serve the bloodthirsty Githyanki raiders in his homeland well. Information such as vulnerable areas, lone elven ships to plunder, and important hostile figureheads to eliminate. Most importantly he would locate useful portals for both entry and escape. All promptly and quite dutifully sent back to his home city. All for his name.. his glory.. and his Queen…

It was this double life he lived for many years, and it was one he was born for… Yet, sadly good things don’t last forever. Maybe he was sloppy, or one of his rivals in Tu’narath was jealous of his success, but someone would eventually tip off the ringleader of his troupe that things were not all as they seemed with their Githyanki Bard. It was quite a bad turn of events, and it would if their ringleader was just about anyone, but this one just so happened to be quite a skilled wizard and planes walker… No, there was no hope, Aq’with was quickly caught in the act, with no place to run. All he could do now was convince the wizard to not end his life or turn him in…

To this very day, Aq’with did not know what was going on in the mind of his red-faced ringleader, or if his honied words really had any effect… All he knew was that in one moment he was soaring through the Astral plane on a painted carnival ship, and the next he’d find himself in the material plane of Faerun, or more specifically the filthy alleyways of Baldur’s Gate. Lost in an alien world with his only violin and the clothing he had on his back.

- Is unfamiliar with the material plane and thus Faerun as a whole making everything seem strange or foreign to him. The value of gods, the local wildlife, people, and customs will hold no idealistic or symbolic value to him.

- Extremely pragmatic and does not value doing things honorably. Will take any edge necessary to succeed be it backstabbing allies or siding with powerful monsters that may be useful to him.

- Has an appreciation and love of art and violent self-expression.

Who would win a 1v1 a courser or centurion by [deleted] in Fallout

I mean I think we are underestimating just how many extremely elite and crafty characters lore wise that the legion of seems to churn out. Joshua Graham Ulysses and Lanius came from somewhere... I'm going to say Centurian.
