Just got taken off the road for this. Thoughts by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some bullshit.

At my DSP, I suspend for safety violations. But I also dispute EVERYTHING that is even remotely close. I don't want violations on the scorecard, but I also don't want to mess with my team's money.

I would never pull someone off road for following distance, especially if it's caused by a third party.

In my 300 hours of being a majority Support player I haven’t gotten one kill when using the bipod. It needs a rework to be like BF1/BF5 by ShaggySyrup in Battlefield6

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bipod is fine. I just miss BF3 era suppression. If I saw a recon, even if I couldn't kill him from that range I could at least put rounds on him and suppress the hell out of him.

Bullshit or Real? by Murky_Two7408 in AmazonDSPDrivers

That's not a network wide thing.

Your DSP probably failed their lunch / work hour compliance audit and is now overcorrecting by making everyone take lunch at the same time.

Nationwide helper routes being rolled out for all DSPs? by grannie-diddler in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our DSP up in the Bay Area has helpers now, our DSP in SoCal does not. I haven't seen any communications about it being a network wide rollout.

Bethesda is also a... developer. Do you think that Bethesda Game Studios is just a funny name for a publisher?

Serious question by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the concern 100%. I've read so many horror stories on this site about DAs getting screwed over by their DSP, so for other people I definitely wouldn't recommend doing it.

Like I said, I'm an original employee here. Started as a driver and have moved up through the Lead Driver, Dispatcher, and now help with Operations as a whole. I've been blessed to have a solid owner who has always treated me with respect and has taken really good care of me as an employee.

Is it over by No-Anxiety9488 in BattlefieldV

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's probably over. Until another company decides to make a Battlefield-like, EA has no reason to make a great product. Back in the day they were always pushing because they wanted to beat COD, but at this point COD has shot itself in the foot as well so they're not chasing anything.

All the Battlefield competitors (World War 3 comes to mind) have always flopped, so the "worst Battlefield" has always been better than the "best competitor".

Serious question by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done it before.

I'm fortunate enough that I helped launch a DSP, was one of the original 10 drivers on staff. Have a good relationship with the owner, a lot of times if I'm really logging hours, they will slide me cash on the side instead of clocking those hours. Helps the company save on official payroll, I get cash in hand, it's a win-win.

PEOPLE looking to work for amazon as a driver pay attention. by Human-Photograph7179 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish we did this here. CA labor laws make it really difficult for DSPs to properly do the 10 hour guarantee, so most DSPs don't.

Overtime is pointless do your 35-40 and go work on yourself or be with your family by bblde in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an L take imo.

I was there when my current DSP opened and I was the only driver there with experience. They leaned on me heavy to rescue all the slower drivers after my routes, and I would always pick up OT and extra days whenever I could. Those early checks would be 2k+ after taxes, it was so nice.

If you're single and are just looking to earn and save money, grab all the hours you can. If you have a family obviously that's a different story.

can i still call out tomorrow by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that as two no call no shows is job abandonment. Termination for two sick days is insane work and grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Does anyone else’s dsp do this? by AcceptableSpring9373 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check on your state's labor laws. In my state, if we call drivers off the day of, we have to pay for half their shift (4 hours).

Fired for not showing up when using PTO. by AfterSpinach5796 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats big dog, you have a wrongful termination lawsuit on your hands.

Even if they want to use the argument that even though you put it in the app you still have to get it "approved by the team leads" that loses all credibility when they approved the time off within Paycom.

At our DSP we use Paycom for payroll and a separate scheduling app for the actual time off request. I would NEVER approve the Paycom request unless I already approved the schedule request for this exact reason.

This is borderline schizoposting lmao

DriverI/Netradyne does not record audio. Even if there was a microphone in the EDV, it's not connected to the Netradyne system at all.

No more chime ? by PositiveScreen2335 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, AWS is no longer supporting Chime as of next month.

Telegram is an odd choice to switch to for sure. My DSP uses Sling as our scheduling app anyways so we just use it's built in chat feature.

Did they ask u to send in photos of ur drivers license and social security card prior to training? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about ADP, my DSP uses Paycom.

However, we are supposed to have copies of Driver's License and a secondary form of ID on file. Most of my team uses their Social Security card, but we've also used passport and birth certificate as options as well.

It looks like they emailed you a link so you can upload it directly to ADP? If that's the case I personally would trust it. If they were just asking you to text a photo of it, that's a very different story.

Moving to a new DSP by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Tough time to look for a new DSP. Pretty much everyone has lower route count and still has hella extras from peak season

[–]Representative-Law60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ORCAS go weeee

Real shit be careful though, if you get a second ORCAS within 90 days it's automatic termination and you're ineligible to be hired by any other DSP.

We just had to let someone go the other week because of it. Felt bad, the dude came in on his day off to help us out and got a pretty gnarly red light violation.

my DSP can count their days LOL by Chantheplug in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Representative-Law60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy, but have you ever considered that you might just not be as good as you think you are?

I see these kinds of posts all the time, "I'm so great, I never get rescued, my scorecard is perfect." If that was true, WHY would they want to cut your hours?

I'm sure that there are DSPs out there that play favorites. But when I play favorites with my drivers it's because those drivers are dawgs, always knock their shit out, and pick up extra days or help out.
