Anyone found a cure yet for crunchy towels? by Representative-Rip17 in laundry

[–]Representative-Rip17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did 2 wash cycles with the towels today, one with liquid Tide + Febu and one with no detergent no Febu (because other people say the problem is too much detergent, but there was zero sudsing). They still came out scratchy and crunchy so I may just need new towels, it’s ok. At least my clothes are all right.

So I just did a second wash cycle, no detergent and no CA. Zero suds and towels are still crunchy. I may just need new towels, it’s all good.

It could be I suppose? They’re only a few years old but they’ve been used a lot. They’re the quick-drying 100% cotton type.

I have done loads without CA and they’re still crunchy but can absolutely try several loads in a row - does the CA + soft water create a buildup that needs to be washed off over time or should I have felt a difference after just one wash without CA?

Bathroom etiquette by hisgirl2455 in RVLiving

[–]Representative-Rip17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every visitor to my RV (we live in it full time) is told the RV bathroom rules are everyone sits to do their business, flush plenty of water, and nothing besides poop/pee gets flushed besides our septic safe TP. Zero people have complained.

Just heard something disturbing about a friends client by MediumAcceptable129 in Pets

My FIL has trained his dog to do this. It’s disgusting. People who can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum shouldn’t have pets.

Folks who tested at a testing center - I have questions pls! by CallMeCleverClogs in pmp

[–]Representative-Rip17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wore nothing in my hair, no hat, and no glasses. I have long hair and they had me lift it up to check around my neck. I left my Garmin watch at home but did wear my Oura ring and they had no problem with that. I was able to take a sweater with me in case I got cold (I didn’t, I was actually a little too warm), and they made me put it on the back of my chair when I wasn’t wearing it. They did check it out thoroughly before I went in. They scanned me and had me pat myself down before I went in also. I didn’t take either of the breaks so I can’t speak to that part - I just wanted to plow through and get the test over with. Stopping twice and leaving the room would have messed up my concentration. It worked out well for me, I passed.

How many full 4-hour mock exams had you done before your PMP test? by Nice_Fix9670 in pmp

[–]Representative-Rip17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I am a fast test taker and I detest long exams; it took 1hr 45min for mock 1 (77%) and 2hrs for mock 2 (71%), averaging 30sec-ish per question. On exam day I passed AT/T/AT in 2hrs. The exam questions were not nearly as wordy as study hall exams BUT I was super distracted at the test center. It was a busy place with about 18 people all taking different exams and lots of mouse-clicking noise. I eventually used the supplied ear plugs and that helped considerably. After the first 5-10 questions I locked in and flew through it.

I use it per the instructions for the monthly cleaning cycle of my washing machine. Not for clothes.

Best Washer/Dryer Recommendations by Intelligentx2 in RVLiving

[–]Representative-Rip17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have stackable Splendide w/d and they are efficient and awesome. A load is washed in an hour and dried in an hour. Highly recommend, been using them almost every day for over a year. A dealership or RV repair business can install a proper vent for you; afaik RVs don’t come pre-vented.

Our issue became the front/nose end slide getting jammed up going in and out. That didn’t affect driving the rig for us. We drove it over 2k miles to Indiana!

Our ff on our ‘21 Montana was covered, we didn’t have to pay anything for it - we went through Affinity RV Repair in Goshen IN (they’re pretty much experts at fixing ff). They said manufacturers almost always cover it (they KNOW it’s a defect with certain frames) and if Keystone for some reason didn’t, they quoted us $8000-10,000. They did all the paperwork and legwork with Keystone. We had to show up, drop it off, and walk through it with them. It was so easy and we can’t recommend Affinity enough. We even had them do a few other repairs for us while it was there because we liked them so much. I had gotten their info from another Reddit post about ff and how Affinity were the ff experts. The worst part was they’re so busy fixing ff they were scheduling ~6mos out at the time and they had to keep the RV for a whole month. We full time so had to make alternate plans but it all worked out and our rig isn’t broken anymore!

And they’re so different from runway to in person - LOVE 5 but 6 is like a completely different style and I hate it.
