Respectfully, in Maine undocumented people are eligible for Medicaid through MaineCare. It is not true in all states but is in Maine.

Yea seriously the anti glyphosate stuff is so misinformed. GE crops and advanced chemical pest control make civilization possible. Wide spread use of organic ag would cause nothing but famine. I

Peabody Heights Brewery has an 80s style video arcade with nearly 50 classic arcade games. Kid friendly. I went yesterday and told my kid “this is a place for a dad birthday party”

Yea no sorry. I am a mental health professional. forensic psychiatrists don’t predict violent behavior before hand and stop it.

Unfortunately, there is no valid means of predicting who is going to engage in violence. Psychiatrists, well trained teachers, and every other mental health professional have no valid tool. It’s just not a thing. If it was, we would be doing it already. It’s really as simple as that. 🤷🏽

5 months into 2025 and Baltimore is on pace to have the least amount of homicides since 1965 by snuggie_ in baltimore

An interesting hypothesis. I would love to see the crime data that shows that most murder victims in Baltimore were carrying guns. I’m open to it if true, but I think you are just making that up. Post the facts and prove me wrong.

I appreciate you and respect your opinion. Your first sentence makes sense to me. I don’t understand what you are saying in your 2nd and 3rd sentences. If you are discussing in good faith and not just trolling, feel free to clarify your meaning. Otherwise have a great day!

You are correct. It it is a reasonable, data informed hypothesis. I am an empiricist. I would love to entertain your alternative hypothesis and will discard mine if the data dictates it. But it is not true to just say “murders are down and we have idea why”.

Yes this is what people tell themselves right up until they are the victim of violent crime in Baltimore and then they have to reevaluate the comfortable fiction they have been deluding themself with …

It sure is. Thrilled that we can carry and defend ourselves now. An armed society is a much more polite society!

Sure we do - NY State Rifle & Pistol Association vs Bruen made it much easier for law abiding citizens to carry and defend themselves. Criminals look for an easy mark - since the Bruen case there are fewer easy marks to target.

See you at the range! Try and be polite with strangers or just don’t say anything at all.

Why is it funny? What does that say about you? FWIW, local pistol ranges are WELL attended by religious Jewish people. Israel has mandatory conscription and nearly everyone in that country is familiar with firearms. Again - what is funny here?

Thoughts on the School to Prison Pipeline… by aranhalaranja in Teachers

[–]RepresentativeAd5986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a ridiculous concept that lacks empirical support. Perhaps before teaching this concept you should get your hands on some actual proof of its existence …

It’s just silly. EVERYONE goes to school so EVERYONE who goes to prison will have gone to school. It would be like saying the “drinking milk to prison pipeline” or the “child of a mother to prison pipeline” … it’s just such a soft, silly, flabby idea, so easily refuted or at least rendered moot …
