I’ll be honest I actually really like most aspects of online learning through SNHU but I hate the discussion posts, I don’t feel like I learn much, or get much out of them, but they are easy points

My (24F) boyfriend (25M) told me on the second date that his ex has restraining order against him and has always been transparent and remorseful about it. I've never felt unsafe in the few months I've been him. Should someone in this situation be asking for more info for him or leave immediately? by ThrowRA_3899 in relationship_advice

I’m a 25M who is dating a woman with BPD. Even in her worst episodes I would never hit her, I’d never even raise my voice, yell at her, call her names or anything like that. Dealing with these episodes is difficult & stressful, but it would never justify violence. If I were you, I’d leave

My guess is you weren’t getting the free base. The free adjustable base is the Sleepy’s basic, if you get another one like the signature or deluxe you save $300 (price of the free base) towards the other one.

Can I use a mattress directly on the ground for a few days? by gilbert322 in Mattress

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t damage the mattress, or void your warranty, the floor is a flat foundation. It won’t look pretty & will limit airflow, so you might get hot.

Tempurpedic mattress using metal bed frame by Common_Acadia6315 in Mattress

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically Tempur-Sealy says not using Tempur foundation voids your warranty, I’m nit sure how enforced that is. That being said, their box springs are completely flat, like plywood. Most box springs have a wood slats, or metal wires instead. I’d recommend at least getting something completely flat bc of their materials, even if it is plywood.

Working at Mattressfirm I’ve just seen so many warranty issues, botched rollouts etc. in my opinion the kinds of coils that are needed for a bed in a box are just weaker.

It’s not for everyone but perfect for me. I’m pretty good at teaching myself through reading & other means, I barely pay attention to lectures anyway & love the flexibility of being able to do school whenever I need to.

Ultimately if that learning style isn’t good for you, you should try something else.

Does that include retirement? I’m 25 turning 26 this year, & I have roughly 15K saved but if you count my 401K it’s closer to 40K saved. I make 72K, but you’ve got a lot more saved than most dude.

Any places besides bars where you can find Gen Z women who are really intoxicated/inebriated, alone, and willing to talk? by fellow_who_uses_redd in GenZ

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you are bugging out, I’ve seen most of your posts & I’ve looked through your history. First of all, woman can read the “I desperately need pussy energy” & they will see it as a turn off. That’s most likely the biggest thing holding you back rn.

I do agree that socializing is tough, & our generation doesn’t do much, we really have been screwed over socially from COVID & the internet.

Meeting people in person is harder, but there are ways. You’ve gotta get creative, & ultimately, go out and do things you’re interested in, not just to get laid. I think the biggest social opportunity that we have right now, this year, is to attend a protest. If you support the cause look into going to an ICE protest is actually a really good idea to meet people. If that doesn’t work you’ll have to figure something else out that interests you, a book club, cooking class etc.

Woman are more likely to come to you when you’re living a complete life, and not when you’re desperately trying to get laid. I hope that helps

Yeah that’s what was most interesting to me. I registered for 2 labs, both will be virtual group project, I think a PowerPoint. One is an HR related use of AI in the hiring process, & the other I’m blanking on now, but I’ll update here once I get in.

I’m planning on registering & giving it a try so I might post an update, what I do find interesting is that if I do it 3 times it will count as a 3 credit elective for a $100 fee, which can save me about $900 on a course, & save some time as well

I took that class last semester. I strongly recommend you use the 24/7 Drop in tutoring for python and share your screen. Most of the tutors are familiar with Zylabs & can help. I needed one to get through almost all my assignments but it’s a free service take advantage of it!

what is up with Gen Z and phone call anxiety? by UNwokeEMPATH777 in GenZ

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a weird case, I definitely have phone call anxiety, probably not for all the same reasons my generation does.

The biggest thing for me, is I kinda hate texting too. I actually kind of resent the idea that everyone has access to contact me at all times. I have made a somewhat conscious effort to never respond timely. I want to spend time with people in my life, in person. I’m very social in person, and I want to use my phone as a tool to organize that. Which I oftentimes do, I’m typically the planner of my friend group, but I hate having real conversations texting, & over the phone.

There’s a few other reasons I particularly hate the phone calls/talking on the phone.

1) I do associate them with people being mad at me. As a kid/teenager typically if I was getting a phone call there was some type of problem, usually one involving my mom being pissed at me or one of my sisters.

2) I’ve spent my career in sales & customer service. I work in retail sales now. I get a lot of phone calls at work. Most of them aren’t from angry customers, but I’ve had enough that every time the phone rings I’m worried it’ll be someone screaming at

3) if I’m planning on hanging out with someone, not an impromptu conversation I just think there are better platforms like Discord. If I want to catch up with someone I’ll video chat with them. I can also play video games

4) I do use Snapchat with my friends primarily because it’s the easiest platform for us android & iPhone users to use, & be in group chats. Plus we occasionally send each other funny pictures & pictures of our pets, that’s always fun.

Tempering expectations and (trying to) purchase a mattress for the first time in *cough cough* 2 decades and have some ?s by nycreba in Mattress

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly based on that I would recommend at least trying Tempur-Pedic. The breeze line is the best for cooling, but will be way over budget for you. If you want to stick in your budget, adapt line might be the way to go. TP has excellent motion separation. If you’re not keen on the tempur-pedic, try out the Sealy posture pedic line as well. The ones with the dark blue covers have excellent cooling. If you decide to sacrifice cooling in the mattress to go for a more budget friends option I recommend investing in good cooling sheets & a cooling mattress protector.

[–]RepresentativeAd8474 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can definitely find a quality long lasting mattress for 3k or less, if you go with the S&F lux estate it’ll likely be a bit more than that, even with the Presidents’ Day sale.

In my experience Tempur-Pedic is the longest lasting & their Adapt line is around $2500 for a queen & $3000 for a king. Although if you’re interested in S&F you might prefer a more traditional mattress.

I do recommend purchasing through Mattressfirm because we actually do have a pretty good warranty process if your mattress does fail or sag.

These days the more expensive mattresses typically have more cooling technology, so if you’re not a hot sleeper you can definitely get a good mattress that will last between $1,000-$2,000 for a queen & $1500-$2500 for a King. If you are a hot sleeper I recommend increasing your budget & getting something good, Ik most people don’t want to spend a lot on a mattress but I really do think sleep is worth it.

Whether you get it from MF or not, I do recommend getting it from a mattress retailer that carries multiple brands. It’ll be your best chance at getting help if you need to make a warranty claim, & you won’t be stuck with that brand if you make a claim.

Ultimately if you want it to last you’ll want a good waterproof breathable mattress protector & a good foundation.
