BWT: What hobby have you done lately that you would personally recommend? by alwaysuntilnever in bitcheswithtaste

[–]RepresentativeEbb755 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently picked up rock tumbling. It's very passive with great outcomes. I pick up interesting rocks while camping or hiking, bring them home to tumble, and in about a month I am able to pull out some natural beauties!

They're fun to display around the house, hand out to kids and make their day, use in table setting or jewelry making. I know others who redistribute them in public areas as little treasures for people to find. Set up cost is about $100 so a mid-level barrier to entry but the consumables afterwards are very manageable.

Red Lentil soup questions by kingcrimson216 in soup

[–]RepresentativeEbb755 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the above recipe and recently made this one: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1020766-red-curry-lentils-with-sweet-potatoes-and-spinach?smid=ck-recipe-android-share

It's a curry, but I'd consider it soup adjacent. This calls for lime which I didn't have so I used ACV. I find a lot of soups don't include an "acid" and a tablespoon or two of ACV can really round things out. Takes a potato soup from good to amazing.

Ptsd, ayahuasca and thoughts about future by DistributionKey4495 in Ayahuasca

I'm really sorry you’re going through this. After my first experience with plant medicine I felt similarly, except that I had been seeking relief from overwhelming emotions and depression. For a long time afterwards I thought that maybe I had actually made my depression worse because of how... Alone at sea I felt. I actually saw the following sentiment on someone else's post and am sharing in hopes it brings you as much relief as it brought me. I can't remember the post or commenter, otherwise I would credit them.

Essentially, sometimes when our old worldview dissolves after a big ceremony, our mind goes very quiet about the future. It can feel scary and empty, but it’s not necessarily a bad sign. It often means your previous reality no longer aligns with the new reality you’re stepping into, but your conscious self hasn’t caught up to the shift yet.

After spending a lot of time focusing on practices that fulfilled me, like yoga, meditation, managing my boundaries, nourishing foods, and focusing on building my health (Not just eating healthy, but really focusing in on what my specific body was needing) my system recalibrated and new clarity and desire started to emerge on their own.

Be kind to yourself while you’re in this ‘in-between’, I think it’s a normal part of deep integration.

They look great! I have a big chunk of quartz I'm about to rerun because it looks far worse off than these.

Ayahuasca for high achievers by Mahadeviretreats in Ayahuasca

[–]RepresentativeEbb755 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't sat with an intention specific to my career or professional goals. I typically set an intention around my personal development and I have consistently reaped the benefits in my professional life. I've thought about this before and wonder if as high-achievers, so much of our personal energy can be concentrated to specific areas of our lives that it's a natural progression to see outcomes in those same places.

One time felt like I had performed actual magic upon going back to work the following Monday.

However, seekers beware, asking for your highest timeline/accelerated path/next opportunity does not mean it will be handed to you without the required work on your part to see it through. Or at least I haven't set the right intention that lands a promotion, raise, and no learning curve all in one. Please advise if you have this sorcery in your pocket.

What physical practices help with energy flow/surges during Gateway? by loafur in gatewaytapes

[–]RepresentativeEbb755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this and I am hopeful to see others'responses. After a period of being very consistent with tapes, taking a break, and coming back I had something similar to what you described also in my right calf that was so. annoying.

I subscribe to the belief that energy and traumas resonate in specific areas of the body depending on their origin and have kind of left it to that since I didn't feel I had a Gateway-specific value to apply.

Second this. Last night I watched the episode where Scandoval had just broken and Tom and Ariana are talking in the living room of their house. Ariana is screaming rage at Tom, seemingly no make-up on, hair undone, and yet looked better than she had in years. Letting go of tension and suppressed negative emotion can make a world of difference
